Unimpressed. They were moderately busy. We ordered our food to go, they did not set it up to go, we went with it anyway just to realize no spoons were provided for our soups. The soups were not even filled to the line in the bowl, there was no choice offered in bread for the sandwich, and the salad was flavorless and wilted. Not worth the $13.98 spent.
Panera… okay…. We went around lunch time so it was a bit crowded. The layout was not conducive to easy ordering and the seating arrangement was a bit haphazard… we felt a little scrunched. Bread (tomato basil) was okay but not omg good… ditto for the sandwich. The french onion soup was good enough to add some interest to a rather bland sandwich and we both wished we had a little more. We didn’t notice any bakery aroma at all… which would have been nice. We’ll likely try them again at a less busy time and bring home a loaf of something to see how it goes.
Wonderful addition to Keizer Station. Have long awaited for Panera to come to Salem and have not been disappointed. Great bakery items and during the cold season lived on their soups. The staff is helpful and pleasant. Have enjoyed every one of my many trips to Panera Bread in Keizer Station!
Unimpressed. Ok, didnt understand why it was so busy. I ordered the turkey artichoke panini with a caesar salad. The panini wasnt even warm and it was pretty sloppy, the salad had so much white iceberg in it and was very bland. The only good part about my lunch was the half baguette they included. Even with their rewards card i wont be going back. If you want a good soup/salad/sandwhich place go to Birdie’s Bistro in Keizer same price, better food and fresh tasty ingredients.
Disappointed. I was so excited to come here and check it out. Totally loved the menu so I even ordered more than I wanted to. Never been so disappointed. Over priced to say the least. Ordered the Thai salad and a lot more and everything was just mediocre.
I could not wait to try Panera Bread because I was already a member on their website, even though we didn’t have one is Salem. I really only wanted to try the red velvet crinkle cookie. OMG, delish. I had lunch with my folks there and it was really good. I had the mozzarella/tomato pannini with a cup of wild rice chicken soup. The sandwich was better than I expected. The soup was delish to , although it was really not as warm as I would like it. We mentioned the soup temp to the manager, and he told us, ( and this was on our 3rd trip back) that if you want your soup extra hot, they have a button on the register to do that behind the counter for you. I will do that on the next trip. As for the cookie, I hope that they make them year round, I would drive all the way to the Keizer Station just for those. I though the prices were a little steep, a cookie for 1.99 is a little high, just think if you had 5 kids with you , that would already be $10.00 before you even ordered food. I will definitely be back for round 4
Nice meal. I decided to give Panera a try today for lunch. I figured this would be a challenge given the likelihood of tons of shoppers out and about. After I navigated the ever-frustrating maze of funnels designed to flummox rather than accommodate patrons that makes up Keizer Station streets I found my way to the new Panera location. My suspicions were correct – there wasn’t a parking spot to be had. So I opted for the drive-through. The line was wrapped around the building but I decided to wait (unlike at least 4 others I saw turn out of the line instead of waiting).I timed it and it took a grand total of 11 minutes to get from the end of the line to having food in hand – not too shabby at all for a new restaurant with heavy crowds.I ordered the Smoked Turkey Panini and the French Onion Soup. I found both to be quite tasty. I’m looking forward to going back when I can get inside and giving the menu a proper perusal.
