the epitome of a dive bar. I once had a woman start dancing in front of my while I had headphones in and was clearly working on my laptop…she then kissed me. this place has uncomfortable vinyl seats, a very dark bar, and inattentive staff. but, you gotta hand it to them, they’re keeping their vibe in a gentrifying neighborhood.
Service standout. This place has the most friendly and attentive service, at highly affordable prices. The burger was good, the homemade potato salad was extraordinary, and the ice tea kept coming. Plus lots of intriguing wall reading.
Bad food and full of too cool for school hipsters.
BreakfastLand. Always avoided Beulahland due to the surplus of fixed gear bikes locked up out front. However, here we were on a Saturday, desperate for a breakfast or two. So we slipped inside. First, I must say, the $3 Bloody Mary qualifies as one of the best deals in town. If its from a mix, its the best mix Ive ever had, and there was a surplus of Vodka wading in there to even things out. The food: I went with their Mile High Omelet, which, as you may have surmised, is a Denver Omelet, with a name upgrade. My lovely bride chose their Breakfast Burrito and Chief Lasiloo rounded up a Chicken Apple Sausage Scramble. Collectively, we had no complaints. Everything tasted mighty fine. We had been searching for an occasional breakfast spot in our hood, and this may be it. Service was friendly and attentive, which is always a welcome relief in the PDX. Yes, it may be hipsterville in the evening hours, but we’ll be long gone by the time that bell tolls.Grade: B (divey ambiance leaves me feeling right at home, without the stack of dishes) drexlermcstyles.tumblr.com
Real beulahland? who knew?. Real beer, real breakfast, real coffee, real bar, real weirdness, friendly people, big and yet small, reasonable prices.they project live broadcast timbers and other soccer games on large screens. went there for the world cup matches, and they were standing room only for morning matches! note: if chaos disturbs you then take a pass, but if it intrigues you then this may charm.
