One of the best kept secrets in SE.. Club 21 has some of the best American food I’ve had in Portland, including authentic style buffalo wings which are surprisingly difficult to find. The Bartenders are all super awesome, they have great shows and the patio is covered and heated in the winter. Sometimes it can be kind of clicky with all the SUPER COOL ROCKERS, who, if you didn’t know, are SUPER COOL, but generally it’s a very friendly and unassuming crowd.
Overcharged. The food was decent but the staff overcharges. Could be that I didn’t dress like the average clientele. The bartender first said the correct price that was listed on the menu, then quickly added several dollars to the price.The atmosphere was pleasant on the sunny day I visited and the build-a-burger with chicken was tasty and filling. Just watch your bill!
In many ways bars try and do what Club 21 does naturally; Be who they are and do what they do. The house infused cocktails are a force to be respected. The bartender is a wonderful woman with a plethora of knowledge equipped with a great sense of humor. The build a burger; well,that is a blessing in the world of culinary delights. More options than a stealth aircraft, and more possibilities than even a string theorists would know what to do with.
