I was excited to try Heart after seeing people carrying around the cute, white takeout cup. I walked in, and it is simple, clean, and minimal. It was inviting and I felt great ordering te coffee.They had double chocolate cookies for sale. They were large, and looked soft and gooey. I immediately wanted to buy one, and said how delicious it looked. The barista stated he was shocked they even still had them. I looked closer at the tag and saw it was $3.25. For one cookie?! Dang, no wonder people were passing. I ordered an 8 oz vanilla latte for $5. I was disappointed when I saw the teeny tiny cup, and how $5 didn’t get me very far there. I loved how they steamed the milk on top and made it pretty, perfect photo op. The latte was so hot. They didn’t have cardboard sleeves that fit the tiny 8 oz cup. It slipped right over the top. So I had to play hot potato for 15 minutes before getting to finally try it way down the road. I took a sip and it was bitter, with barely.any vanilla taste. What a disappointment.

This sounded like such a great place, but the decaf cappuccino was so bitter, it was undrinkable.
On a recent trip to Portland this summer we visited 5 top rated coffee shops. Hands down this was our FAV. Staff, presentation, coffee order were all to perfection. Nice ambiance
I love coffee. For the most part. However, that being said, I cannot wrap my mind or tastebuds around drinking Heart coffee. It’s hard to describe, but the flavor of coffee served, not good. What is it? I have no clue. Too bitter? Too what? Or not enough this, that or whatever. I’ve tried it repeatedly and each time unsuccessful. I can’t finish a cup, let alone two sips. So dissappinted.
Great coffee, gorgeous minimalist look; definitely a favorite.
