Amazing! I ordered 3 out of 10 and it was the hottest food I’ve ever eaten. Delicious. The owners served us- made homemade peach cake and shared it with us- awesome. There was no wait to get in. This is a hidden gem. I want to encourage business for them, but keep it a secret at the same time. Great experience :).
Wonderful Thai!. Really had a hankering for Thai and stumbled across this little gem. It was a little challenging to find as it’s located inside a non-assuming home on a residential street. But don’t pass it by! Friendly staff – I went with the pad Thai and absolutely loved it! My friend had the chicken curry and loved hers too. Very quaint and cozy setting – reasonable prices. Would definitely return.
By far my fave thai in town. There were 5 of us and everyone was blown away by the flavor and portions. I would say try anything on the menu. I’ve heard service is spotty but ours was spot on. The caveat: watch out for the Chili heat! A 2 out of 20 will push the average person’s threshold. If you try a 3, you may not be able to finish. I think Shelly gets a sadistic pleasure of burning your Ass!
Best Thai Food in Portland. This restaurant is the most authentic in all of Portland. The service is superb in true Thai style. The wait is well worth the delicious individualized dishes. I specifically asked for a Thai dish that was not on the menu, and was accommodated with friendly ease. The chef came to my table to converse about the dish I preferred. The couple that owns this restaurant treats all customers in true Thai style. Food is presented fresh and delicious, individual to each customer seated at the table. If you are used to American service (each person presented with their dish at one time), be prepared for a cultural experience that is essential to Thai dining. This is a restaurant for the well traveled and seasoned veteran, who knows their limits and expectations.
Settle in, have a beer, and get some great Thai food. We haven’t been here in years – walked in on a Saturday night and the place was half-empty, so we were worried that the quality had gone downhill. No worries – the food was just as wonderful as always! Yes, the service is slow (only one waiter for the whole restaurant) but the salad rolls, fisherman’s soup, garlic prawns, red curry and chili paste wide noodles were all amazing. Great depth of flavor and very fresh ingredients. Warning: the ‘heat’ range of 1-20 is a bit crazy. 1 was very mellow – and 3 was pretty dang hot.
Not worth it. The service is terrible: the wait to get a menu and food is way too long.The food used to be good: now too much sugar and not enough taste. I remember when Shelly was good. Something happened. She doesn’t care anymore.Also Shelly is no longer friendly. She is mean, way too hurried acting and the one waiter is both indifferent and way too hurried as well.
Lemongrass is the best place in Portland to get chicken pad Thai! The servers are very friendly and the food is fab!
