we stop here often for takeout for our family. i should start off by saying that there’s nothing groundbreaking going on here, but it’s very serviceable mexican fare, and very affordable. but bring cash because they don’t take credit card. the fish tacos are the best item.
This is my favorite taqueria. The prices are so great and the flavors are super as well. The service is always cordial and friendly. It is cafeteria style and they only take cash. I eat here often. $5 for Huevos Rancheros; can’t beat that.
Okay, I’ve had better Plato Con Carne in Cha Cha Cha. The refried bean and the guacamole were all blended into a cream texture, and an extra guac would cost you $4.50. No thanks? Fine, I know guac is extra, but $4.50 for a little but of extra guac in a shack like this is crazy. The rest of the plate is pretty decent. My friend likes this place a lot, though.
A tiny, hole in the wall, authentic Mexican restaurant. When I found it I was so happy. I’d been seeking a restaurant just like this for months. The burritos are enormous, and the horchata is delicious. I always leave happy:0)
Quick good food. Fill yourself up for less than 6 bucks… and even better…You wont have to deal with gentrified snobs here, just pay a fair price for decent food quickly! Simple atmosphere / menu keeps the yuppies away and waiting in their ridiculous lines elsewhere for hours. Definitely a fading trend in Kerns, hell Portland altogether.I like the carne asada fajita burrito, (meat, rice, grilled red peps and onion) it satisfying and only 5 bucks. For a buck more get the plate and receive refried beans, rice, salsa, shredded lettuce on the side and sour cream and guac on the burrito. I’ve heard the taco’s are great too at a 1.50 a pop.
Good food, great prices, generous portion. Mole enchiladas and steak tacos! Nothing fancy, but worth the trip..
Around 10 years ago this restaurant made my absolute favorite meal in Portland, a pollo burrito (with sour cream and cheese added by request). It tasted perfect to me. However… Today it is sadly one of the worst restaurants I know of in Portland. I therefore remain thankful for Cha! Cha! Cha!
