The Blazers and a Buffet of Goodness. I really like this place. Its has character without laying it on too thick. The owner is a knowledgeable Blazer fan and during games his bar seems to attract the like. Which for me, is a huge plus. Dont get me wrong, this isnt a gathering spot for macho fanboys or anything. Just real Blazer fans that know basketball. Its a good crowd. Strong cocktails and first rate service round things out nicely. But lets talk about the Bean, Rice and Cheese Especial Bowl ($5). Most bars serve some deep fried gunk to clog up your drunken veins, allowing you some extra lingering time before collapse, and there is certainly nothing wrong with that. However, the BRC Bowl at Red Flag is the horse of a different color; made with fresh beans and a slew of other delights (Freshly Chopped Onions, Tasty Salsa), this is the ‘sober me up in a hurry’ answer to your all your 90 proof troubles.Half way through our bowl we agreed that it wouldve been enough for 3 people to split, but that didnt stop us from sucking the whole thing down, via some major help from the Tortilla Chips that come with it. The best chicken fried steak I have ever had is made by a very talented person named Woody. Owner of the resturant part of Gemstone, Woody has created flavorful three egg scrambles, maintained the southern roots cuisine, and serves a great cup of coffee.
