First off I would like to state that Mexican food has always been a comfort food for me. While it is a tasty cuisine it is simple to prepair and very nice to have after a long day of work. It is because of this that I was so surprised with the lack of quality in the food at Mazatlan grill. The simple sides of rice and beans appeared overcooked and bland. The entres and themselves left something to be desired. But putting aside the food for a minute I was most disappointed in the service. Mexican restaurants are known for their warm family atmosphere and welcoming staff. While some of the staff was very friendly and helpful our server was rude and impolite. He made it clear from the start that we were inconveniencing his day even though the restaurant was nearly empty. He was short with us regarding our food orders and didn’t ask us if we wanted a second round of the overpriced and under poured drinks. All in all I was very disappointed with my experience with Mazatlan grill. I would not advise anyone else try it.
Better food and prices at Jalapeos around the corner.. Chimichanga was very small. They forgot to refill the chile relleno and it disappeared between the beans and rice. Margaritas are expensive goblets of cold syrup. Service was a bit rough around the edges. Lotsa chips though. Lotsa chips.

My son and I tried this place for lunch. I had the pork Chile Verde burrito. Although there were nice chunks of pork, the green sauce lacked flavor. The rice was dry too. My son had the chili Colorado burrito in which the red sauce was watered down and was flavorless. Portions were very small. If you want great flavorful Mexican food go to El Toucan. They do it right!
