  Review?. This was the most disappointing hot dog adventure ever. Over priced, under portioned, and just overall crappy. I was served a plain hot dog, on a plain bun, with plain chips. With a name like Downtown Dog, I expect gourmet options like a Chicago style or New York style hotdog. Not something I could throw together at home for less than the cost of my meal. I will never come back.

  Not What I Was Hoping For…. Downtown Dog has a great little spot on the main strip of Lebanon. I hear that the live music is jamming when an event is going on. The food however, doesnt live up to the groovy standard set by the location, the dcor, and the tunes. The building is adorned with old concert posters, guitars, and large tie-dyed sheets of fabric. I rather enjoyed the music; Bob Marley and other reggae stars lay down a mellow beat over the speakers while you eat. The reason my sister and I had stopped at Downtown Dog was because I have been craving a Chicago style hotdog, something fierce. Unfortunately, this stable on other menus is not found on Downtown Dogs menu; I went with a Coney Dog instead. My dog was almost $5 with no sides, I reasoned with myself that if it was good, it would be worth the hefty price. My little sister got a standard bratwurst with mustard. We both ordered waters for our beverage. When the water arrived it was almost totally void of ice, I joked with my sister that the ice must be running low. I was right, the owner called someone and asked for ice, a few minutes later they walked in with a walmart shopping bag of ice. It wasnt a bag of ice in a walmart bag, it was just ice cubes in a standard walmart shopping bag. I shiver at the thought of bags previous location before being repurposed as an ice transportation vessel. Our dogs arrived within minutes of ordering. Store bought buns, marginal dog and brat, and I believe canned chili were what I got for almost ten bucks. I really feel like the two dogs were something that I could have easily assembled at my house for next to nothing. They could learn a few things from Street Dogs in Corvallis or Peppertree in Albany. The owner is friendly so no complaint there, but I should have known better when the menu says, have a problem, tell me. Like your food, tell others or something of that nature. I cannot suggest that you give em a taste.

  AMAZING. This place is great for a light lunch of great hot dogs in many varieties. Fantastic homemade soups and the best service with cool music. With local restaurants joining together downtown dog and Kris’s kitchen make the perfect pair giving you amazing food options and great dessert for a reasonable price.

  For When You Just Feel Like a Dog. Stocking only Chicago red hots (not your garden variety 7-Eleven hot dog) and beer by the bottle, this place doesn’t have a lot of frills on the menu, but the food they have is good and the atmosphere is interesting. Vintage rock posters and old guitars line the walls, live music is performed on some days, and the lively owners are always willing to shoot the breeze about anything and everything with you.
