I went to the new Nectar Creek Meadery in Philomath with a group of friends. There were 9 of us and we ate lunch and most of us enjoyed a pint of mead of one flavor or another. The food was absolutely excellent! It is served on large, square plates and is very pleasing to the eye when it is set in front of you. The meats are all house-smoked. My ham and cheese panini was possibly the best I’ve ever eaten. My friend’s ceasar salad with smoked salmon left her raving. I already knew that I prefer the ginger mead (Sting), so I didn’t try anything else. The service was excellent and we were welcomed by Nick Lorenz, co-owner. The menu is so tempting that I plan to reuturn and try each offering. A most pleasant experience indeed!
