One of the best tasting meals I can remember. Had the mushroom soup and cowboy steak both were amazing. The salsa had a citrus flavor that I have not experienced before and believe it made the meal.
a friend found this place on yelp. Charming space and super friendly staff. The menu made it very difficult to choose one item. I had the seafood linguini and it was wonderful. Small, reasonably priced local wine list. Our waiter, Joseph, was fabulous. He took great care of us, made suggestions and was very attentive. If I lived in Portland, this would be my go-to restaurant.
Super friendly and fast service, and good coffee. Decent food, but I wasn’t very impressed. I had the breakfast burrito, which seemed filled mostly with plain scrambled eggs, but was topped with good guac and salsa. Their potatoes are good! thekitchenpaper.com
Good food. Awful Service. Not kid-friendly. We were there on the day after Christmas and it was very busy. We were seated right away, but it took 10 minutes before we got table settings and 20 minutes before the server took our orders. We have a four year old and six year old who get antsy waiting and the six year old was tapping the bottom of the booth with his feet, which is admittedly annoying, (but I had not noticed – so not crazy loud) but her tone of voice and facial expression were not very nice when she asked him to stop. I wouldn’t have minded her saying it once, but after waiting another 20 minutes, when she checked in on us she said it again. I asked if their were crayons or a kids menu, and she said no, why don’t they play in the kid’s village and pointed outside to a dollhouse tied to a tree on the sidewalk. Not on a table or a bench – on the ground of the Broadway sidewalk. Seriously? You want me to have my kids play with a toy in the rain next to a sidewalk tree that has probably been peed on by hundreds of dogs? next to a busy street? The food was alright, but nothing exceptional by portland standards. Maybe it was just an off day, but I won’t be back.
Great Food. Went there for a quick lunch. Ordered a light lunch because I was having an early dinner with friends. It was great! Can’t wait to go back for breakfast.
Crazy busy. Good breakfast, especially the variants of Eggs Benedict, but a little crazy on a weekend. Long wait, and noisy. You need to ask about the specials. Not the place to relax.
Not a very wide vegetarian selection and no vegan options (outside of a salad), this is a professionally run establishment with pleasant music (not too loud), an efficient kitchen, expert wait staff, and very friendly. The Hungarian mushroom soup is a specialty.
