Did Not Live Up to Reputation. I am visiting from the east coast & wanted to find great fusion (or Thai) food. I did a lot of research & much of it directed me to Bambu. I went for lunch. I have to say the ambiance is really lovely. But that did not make up for the fact that the food was pricey & fell very short of the mark. I had the Pad Thai which was $9 with nothing added to it. Make it a combo & it is $2 more (I think). That almost made it worth it due to the addition of cuke salad & rice. But the portion was tiny & the chicken was ground up. Despite a pile of white rice (nothing added so was bland), I wasn’t filled up (and I’m a tiny woman). I had asked the server what item I should add to make it a combo (you can add any of the other entrees to make it a combo). She suggested the spring roll. I’ve tried all kinds of spring rolls…..I was expecting something better than a slightly improved frozen Chun King roll. I have to say I believe they can do MUCH better. Last night we ate at Dragonfly in Ashland & I was blown away by their entrees & appetizers. Go there instead & enjoy a far superior meal. About the same price too.
Great food. Bambu has been one of my favorite local places for years! Their tiger rolls are absolutely incredible and their lunch menu is a hidden bargain for lunch goers. I’d highly reccomend any of the curry specials that change daily or the crispy fish. Haven’t been impressed with the portion sizes and quality for the to-go orders, so dining in is reccomended.
Won’t serve kids…. I walked in to get a table for our party, and everything was fine, i was greeted by the hostess. My wife followed a minute later with our 2 year old son, the leathery hostess saw our son and denied us service. The hostess was very rude, this is not a kid friendly place. We had high hopes for the place, but after seeing the anti-kid game, we will never try again. Too bad!
Great tasting food. Bring a book. We had a reservation at 7pm. It took 3 hours to get our food, they forgot an appetizer. The specials were $25 and they didn’t mention it while the average dish is $17. Then they had the nerve to add gratuity. So basically it was terrible except the flavor.
Awesome fresh food! Smaller place so usually a wait but worth it. Service good!
The presentation and flavor of the food felt like we were in Portland, not Medford! I can wholly recommend the Hawaiian salted edamame, Korean BBQ beef and to top it off, the excellent mandarin orange creme brle! Delish!
Above average. Not too impressedgood food but slightly overpricedsolid beverage selection
