I have eaten their lunch buffet there for years and in the last 6 months the quality has really gone down. which makes me sad because I loved going there. Also when I am there for lunch the owner always tells me to try dinner but I live far away and everytime I am in town for dinner I go by there excited to try but they are never open. I have gone by several times and the open sign is off, door are locked. I have given up trying to go there for dinner. 🙁
Delicious, Friendly, Affordable…AWESOME. I have hosted many different events at Capers from presentations to prospecting dinners and holiday parties. I cannot say enough good things about this restaurant. Not only is the food wonderful and presented beautifully, but the staff, both on the floor and in the kitchen, are such genuine, talented people. If you are looking for great food, a beautiful atmosphere, and killer service – you need to visit Capers. P.S. Try the salmon; steak; or house salad with basil vinaigrette. ALL OF THEM ARE AMAZING!
Great Buffet. I wasn’t expecting such quality for the price at this buffet. I had some grilled chicken, polenta , grilled veggies and mixed fruit mini tarts and it was all you can eat. They change up the menu based on what’s in season so every time you visit you will be surprised.
Great Lunch Buffet. This restaurant, despite it’s unassuming appearance, was fantastic! The service was quick and friendly. I stopped in for the lunch buffet, and was able to eat an incredibly flavorful salad (the basil vinaigrette was so light and delicate), along with a delicious house-made meatloaf and roasted vegetables. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone!
Did I mention the restaurant directly across the street just went out of business? They were the best in town too! And a new restaurant (a 2nd location in the area, the 1st location has a flawless reputation for being THE best restaurant in the neighboring town) just opened up down the street. Capers really can’t afford to lose customers, due to being insensitive & rude.22 Jan, 2014NOT Gluten-Free friendly. Upon expressing my inability to consume gluten, the chef suggested that I stick to the mashers (potatoes) and proceeded to laugh. Like getting violently ill after eating gluten is something to laugh at. Nor is it funny to imply that I should pay $9 dollars for lunch & only eat mashed potatoes. This is after he told me a week before that I could just have a salad for dinner, in front of my partner when we both wanted a romantic dinner there. I can have lettuce at home for under a $1 so why bother paying him. Clearly he doesn’t want me as a customer/ consumer. Word of mouth in a small town is huge. More than half my friends (which are many) also eat gluten free, are major foodies & loyal to local food/ restaurants. They’re not only losing one customer. Btw, I’m an advanced cook & joyously make my own gourmet expensive meals. I eat out because I love supporting local businesses. He clearly doesn’t want my support. And he won’t be getting it!
Food and presentation was great. Unfortunately they could benefit from a better wine list. Suggest they contact Grape Expectations for some better suggestions.
