The atmosphere at this cafe was absolutely perfect! I felt as comfortable as if I were in my own home. It was a great mix of people studying/working, chatting with friends, and having work meetings. Bipartisan Cafe really is a place for anyone, anytime. As for the food, I tried the Beef Chili and it was amazing! So hearty and homemade. I got a rooibos chai to that was no less fabulous than the chili. Great food and atmosphere, which is rare to have both! emily.rubennic.com
Great discovery! Loved dessert and coffee!. After dinner at The Country Cat on the same block, a friend and I decided to come in here for dessert. This place is exactly what you want a coffee shop to be. Clearly we were not the first to discover this. On a Wednesday evening, the place was packed and abuzz making us lucky to find seats at the bar. Still, service was fast and friendly. From my bar-seat vantage point I could see the sandwiches and all that they were making, and it all looked excellent. I had a perfect cup of Stumptown latte. Resistance to the pie is futile, especially when they had Marionberry. Is there a more perfect berry for pie? Of course not. When I was there, the only Marionberry pie they had was gluten-free, and being someone who has four Celiacs in the family, I very much appreciated this. The pie filling was fabulous. Luxurious texture and flavor. The cream cheese topping was to die for–in perfect balance with the filling. The bottom crust suffered from the problems that are common to GF cooking: it was very hard and tough. Good flavor, but nearly impossible to cut. As I cook GF regularly, I could understand and give them a bit of a pass on this. I would encourage them, however, to look for a more tender crust option and I highly recommend recipes from Cooks Illustrated’s Gluten Free cookbook.
Hang out at the BP. A good cup of Jo and people watching spot. Food not remarkable..a local hang out.
Cornerstone of the happyzone. I recently moved into the Mt. Tabor area and one spring day I was out wandering, looking for the local spots for coffee, hamburger or general hangout spots to enjoy a day off.Not only did I find a great resale shop, burger place, theatre and pastry shop but also the center piece to it all the Bi-pie Cafe :)It’s welcoming, it’s comfortable and there are no tables or shelves of things asking me to buy them. The only choices are easy, chocolate cream pie or carrot cake? Tea or latte? Sit on the couch with a paper or wander the street goodies safely in hand?It was busy enough the first time I walked past I had to go in and see what was happening. The good news was everyone there seems to be in on the secret of letting each other quietly enjoy this groovy cuppa joint.Check it out the next time you have a Sunday brunch with yourself or you need a break from the venti-ville.
OH MY GOD!!!. Absolutely amazing amazing amazing desserts at such a good price. Stumptown coffee. A true hidden gem! Although I seriously doubt it’s a bipartisan place.
Mmmmm…. I haven’t tried the food, but the Stumptown coffee is excellent, and the coconut cream pie is just dreamy. The carrot cake is the best I’ve ever had!
Stopped by for a slice of pie and a cup of coffee before the movie at Academy and must say it might become a tradition. The house coffee was bold enough for my liking and the marion berry pie was delicious. If I was at home, I would of licked the plate.
