Pizza is delicous! They put lots of toppings on, the sauce and crust are perfect. Order some beer with your pizza and enjoy!
Classic American Pizza: Generous portions, friendly stuff. Lunch special (slice, salad, soda) is one of the best deals in town.
Pockets Full of Junk. As soon as I walked in I was reminded of the Pizza Parlors of my youth. From the funky decor to the after school job employees, I felt like I had been here before, a long time ago. We kind of had our hearts set on Calzones, and thats what we went with. I built my own with Ground Sausage, Jalapenos and Black Olives. My Dollypop represented the garden set with one of their ‘De-Lite-Full’s, a combo of Ricotta, Spinach, Zucchini and Black Olives. As our Calzones baked we took in the schlock that was on all sides of us, including a fully dressed table that was hanging upside down from the ceiling. We also took note when the people sitting behind us had their names called and proceeded to walk by with 2 of the fattest slices I had ever seen. But it was too early in the game for buyers remorse.Finally, we got the call. The Calzones were HUGE, and we ordered the Regular ones. Who knows what the Large looks like. Unfortunately, this is when the story begins to head south. Simply put, the food was entirely unimpressive. Cheap quality ingredients (both the Marinara and Pizza sauce were awful) and an obvious lack of cohesion between the toppings proved these Calzones to be all flash and no substance. Funny, my wife noticed that when the people behind us left, most of their food was untouched. They didnt even bother to get it to go, which we thought was kind of odd. Until we began eating ours own meals. Its not that the food was really bad, its just that it tasted like the sum of it cheap parts. There was no fusion within these Calzones and a lack of Cheese didnt help matters. Perhaps we should have got a Pizza, or maybe not….. I imagine this place is very popular among families with children who are looking for a more rewarding experience than Round Table for their Sunday outing, and to that end they probably succeed. Favorite. My family and I have been going to flying pie for over 15+, It is our favorite pizza bar none in Portland. They know us there. Feels good to walk in and Tye the owner knows to put extra garlic on my pie already and knows my name and asks how the parents are… Great atmosphere fun people… Get your pizza on!
After waiting for 30 minutes for our pizza it was stolen off the counter bysome guy off the street. The staff was so sorry that they gave us a free onesnd it was the best pizza ever. Huge piled high with my favorite toppings and a crispy crust . Loved it!! Hope they catch the creep though.
