This is a fun, kitschy place that is currently decked out for Halloween. They serve breakfast comfort food that is really quite tasty. The coffee is excellent. It is also fun to hear the staff call out for people on the waiting list hanging out in Multnomah Village.

This place is made of win. Nothing like Fat City Cafe. Go there for breakfast or a sandwich – win – advance to next level.

Good Eats!. This was our first time and it was a surprise for my husband. Great service while being busy and excellent food. We enjoyed the dcor and our experience. Went because the biscuits and gravy got a good review on the web. Will go again!

Good food, and good service. Nice that it opened at 6:30.

Bad food/poor service/dirty. This place has really gone down hill on service, waitress, food prep/delivery. 7:30 AM on a FRI last week, entertaining a world traverler long time friend. We were the only other table of patrons in diner. Waitress very slow and unfriendly. Omlette was overcooked/dry. Toast was cold and no butter.Food was served with fork that had dried food from former patron! What else went on that I could not visibly see?! Had to ask twice for the pre-ordered cinnamon roll to go. When delivered I knew I should check it out-yep- upside down. When I had to ‘again’ waitress attention for a ‘bag’ for this’ take out food’, she gave me a look like I just arrived from Mars. Instead of a crisp white or brown clean crisp sack – what I got was a ‘plastic bag’ which was a very used/wrinkled twisted up brown grocery bag! Yuck! Something I would only have used to take my dog for a walk and use for this purpose. My Seattle friend wanted to eat in a local favorite spot. I gave her options of where to go – obviously she picked the wrong place. Would not advise going here. Not what it used to be for sure!

Mothra Says… No License Needed Here.. K & I walked up and down this tiny main street in Multnomah Village the other day and enjoyed both the stores then checked out the menus of a couple of restaurants. They both looked good but we were in the mood for diner food so we walked into a busy Fat City Cafe about 1:30. One table was available down on the right so there you go. This is a small eclectic restaurant with a real basic (basic means good) menu…. sandwiches hot and cold, burgers, and both breakfast and lunch served all day. After deciding whether it was breadfast or lunch, Ayna took our order with a smile. While waiting on our order to arrive, we scanned this restaurants’ walls and ceiling as there is a lot to take in. Youknowwhatimean? Then, 5 min’s playing Norm! a new game with one of the waiters. The game involves sliding a large glass container of sugar up and down the counter pretending it is a beer. You had to be there….. it was fun. Smiles all around, and catch of the day goes to K for saving the sugar as it almost crashed to the floor. After just a short time, K’s fluffy scambled eggs with an even more fluffy giant biscut & hash browns arrived. Then she did what she normally does: (wait for it) she poured ketchup alongside her hash browns. Ugh! Me, I had three eggs basted, an English muffin, and a not normal Mothra item: one hotcake. I know huh!? An iced tea for me and a hot tea for K rounded out breakfast at lunch. By the time we finished up our meal, Fat City had pretty much emptied out. We’ll definately be back next time to try some of these hot sandwiches. Breakfast for two, a 30% tip all for about $21. Mothra says…..3.35 of 5.0
