I finally satisfied my curiosity at Game Time. We didn’t want to go in but we didn’t want fast food either so we got the Hellacheeseburger to go. This mountain of a burger will set you back $15 but it has two half pound patties oozing with SEVEN cheeses! Parmesan, mozzarella, pepper jack, cheddar, Swiss, Gouda & Monterey Jack. This was more than enough to split along with some excellent onion rings & ranch. If you have a hearty appetite and your gut can handle it I can recommend you try this burger at least once in your lifetime. We weren’t disappointed in the least but it’s definitely not your everyday meal.07 Feb, 2012Redemption. I like Game Time. My coworkers like Game Time. We often get to go orders but they were skating on thin ice as far as my boss was concerned. The last few times getting the Chicken Merlot it was apparent the Merlot was lacking if not nonexistent. It was disheartening and close to being on the B list for lunch choices. Yesterday they got back on track. We called in a order for a Romeo Burger and two Chicken Merlots. They said it’d be ready in about 25 minutes. I get delayed at work and get there in 35 to find out the cook is making extra demi glaze for us! This was a welcome delay. It was a hit when I got back to the lunch room with an extra side of demi glaze! This was my first time getting the Romeo Burger and it was delicious. The pepperoni & mozzarella was great but it was a little dry. All in all Game Time does a great job. This is much better food then I would expect from a sports bar. One nitpick would be how long it takes. Often I am waiting at the bar for 5 or 10 minutes beyond what they told me on the phone. This unfortunately is a regular occurance. I have never dined in here so I have no idea how long that takes. We’ll keep going here. They are one among the many good burger joints in Albany.
Food: F Service A. Burgers were ok at best. Pizza was horrible almost like a frozen pizza. Ribs were dry and felt like eating a whole bottle of bbq sauce very bite. Wings were ok, but you can’t go wrong with wings. I love salad and when I go to a bar or anywhere I expect it to be fresh. What I got was a plate full of garbage lettuce right out of bag from walmart. It was disgusting. Horrible food at both Albany and Lebanon but the service and atmosphere was great.
Another reviewer favorably……… Mentioned this place and its Burgers as a comparison to another. They have this location and another in Lebanon. In driving down Waverly, be vigilant, it’s not visible from the street. When you see the sign, hang a left and theirs is the next driveway on the right. It’s a typical sports bar with the requisite TVs on the walls. There’s a bar, a row of high-tops and a row of regular tables and chairs next to the front windows. I asked Jen, my server, if the menus at both locations were the same. She assured me they are. I ordered a Chipotle Bleu Cheese Burger with a Green Salad as my side. It’s a half pound Patty with Bleu Cheese, Bacon, Lettuce, Tomato, Red Onion and Chipotle Sauce served on a substantial Roll. (A Wonder Bun would not hold up under the rigors required to eat this monster.) The Salad was Romaine Lettuce, Arugula, Spinach, Tomato, Red Onion and crunchy Croutons. I had Honey-Mustard Dressing which was served on the side. It was a very good Burger, as it should have been at $11.50. I rank it among the several very good Burgers offered in this small valley town. I have to say my favorite Burger in Albany is still at Wilhelm’s B&G on Pacific Boulevard.
One of my favorite bars. Definently one of my favorite bars to go to. The people are always friendly and make you feel welcome and glad that you are there.
Good food!. The Chicken Philly is scrumptious, the appetizers are also really good and a great deal (5 appetizer sampler for $8.00). Friendly service to boot.
Great Bar with Good People!
