Golden Town Buffet. We love going to the buffet once every week. The selection is good, seating is usually good, service is quick and its a great place to get whatever you like (within the spectrum of Chinese food). I have a hard time picking out something on a menu, this way you can sample everything! For Buffet food you cannot beat the value.
Nice food, good price. The quality of the buffet exceeded our expectation. Especially the crab leg and ice cream are much better than the one that we visit often in Seattle with a much lower price. We are glad to come across this restaurant in the trip.
Great lunch. My sisters and I had a great time celebrating at a birthday outing. Golden Town was the choice of the birthday girl, and we all like it. Of course, we all had more than enough to eat and plenty of variety with the Sushi Bar, very nice, and the Mongolian; plus some good dessert and ice cream. The waiter was attentive and the place very clean and pleasant. This time we didn’t have to pay at the register, the waiter picked up our bill
Pleasantly Surprising and GOOD. This Chinese buffet has the typical offerings that we all expect: potstickers, wontons, various Chinese entrees, sushi Mongolian grill, etc. However, I was really surprised at their vast spread of sushi and other seafood beyond the usual mussels and crab legs. The gem of the night was the grilled oysters, I couldn’t get enough. Their dessert line was pretty impressive as well, the little cakes were delectable. My only gripe with this establishment is the severely cramped dining space- tables and chairs close together creating a maze to get to the buffet lines. For a place newly built from the ground up, the dcor and design is nice and new, but I expected the flow to make a little more sense. We chose to walk through the entry/host station each time rather than squeeze between and behind other diners. Other reviews mentioned horrible service, we did not experience that although they seemed really bored, but plates were cleared promptly and beverages were refilled frequent enough. This place is NOT my favorite Chinese buffet in the area, but I’d come again.
It is a very good Chinese buffet!. We are Chinese food fun and have tried many Chinese dishes in US, England, France, Italy and China.. Thanks for the opening of Golden Town. The food is really tastefu and the environment is clean and tidy.. The waiters/waitress are very freindly and warm-hearted. The Mogolian grills are very delicious and you can choose shrimps, pork, beef and lots of vegetables to have a stir fry. We have recommended this beffet to many of our friends and we have become the frequest visitors to Golden Town.buffet.Our only suggestion is to keep changing a couple of dishes each week. During weekend better add some Chinese traditional food, such as fry rolls (Youtiao),steamed buns (baozi). At Oregon State University there are many Asian students who will like them!
Thank you for re-opening!!. My family enjoys Chinese buffet from the days of old China #1 buffet, but an arsonist burned it down. We then had to drive to Corvallis for the same style buffet over there. But then your restaurant opened under new ownership and in lots of ways it was much better than the old one. It surprised us a little bit. Your decorations are beautiful with three wonderful chandeliers, tables with classical Chinese characters that really make us feel closer to the Chinese culture, and your restaurant has a generally very friendly wait-staff.The food is fresh all around and much better than the old one. The B.B.Q. chicken and beef steaks are hits for the boys in our family. The dessert cakes are miraculous!! Sushi is also really good. I want to thank you for re-opening this buffet in Albany. We enjoy it and will recommend it to all our friends!Thank you!!
My previous comment was directed towards male staff.23 Jun, 2013Please, unless you love mayonnaise, do not get the ‘coconut’ chicken. I’m pretty sure it was just plain fried chicken tossed in mayo. It even had that see through yellow color when cooled. Also the you can actively watch the staff point and snicker about patrons.
