2 years ago I got a Christmas gift card for Izzy’s. I hadn’t been to Izzy’s in over 5 years. I went there early and found all the food pizzas included out and hot. I got a salad bar which was very good and then my choice of pizzas and chicken and things like that. After about six months of going there on one month basis I noticed that Izzy’s started to go downhill if you don’t like kids running around all over the place do not go and if you don’t like people making slobs of themselves meaning spelling things all over the place don’t go. I tried to go to Corvallis Izzy’s since it was Under New Management that was a big mistake I will never go there again. As well as the Izzy’s over here by the time my card had expired. I had started going back to Albany Izzy’s and it started to go downhill significantly the carpets and there I know they can’t get up there and vacuumed all the time I just look like a pig sty all over the place because again you got parents kids and other people just not knowing where to put their food if it’s in their mouth or on the floor or they kick it on the floor it just needs to be cleaned all the time and I specially see kids reaching up into the salad bar which just that made me stop. If they reach up into the salad bar with her hand it’s not good and same way with a pizza they won’t don’t ask for their parents help to get the pizza. I’ll just grab it I’ve noticed which kind of made me want to throw up but it didn’t I just mentioned to the manager and he said that he would watch it. But after that significant day that I was there I haven’t went back and that’s why I give them such a low rating they used to be a really great place to go but not anymore. Sorry Izzy.

Terrible terrible terrible. Somehow they have gotten worse. Thought I’d try them again after a few years but was in no way impressed. I did not enjoy 75% of the food. We went around lunch time and nearly everything was out of the buffet or there were some scraps left to choose from.. had to sit at the table and go back hoping what I wanted would finally be put out. Food was blan and either cooked wrong, dry, or cold. Fully disappointed and not going back. Really used to love this place years ago but they’ve really fallen apart.

Great Place to take the kidz!!. Food was great, plentiful and the grill was o.k. Drinks should be included in the price of the meal. Salad bar was attractive and had some very nice items, esp. the tortellini salad!!! LOVED the Cheesy Bread, that was awesome! Kids ate well, and we were able to get a nice visit in along with the dinner.

We are on the fence about this place, but tend to eat here more than we should because of the various selections available. The staff has always been very nice, but are obviously stretched thin having to host buss refresh food items and cashier. Your wait can be a bit long when trying to be seated or pay your bill. They also have a hard time keeping pizza on the buffet and at one point there was no pizza at all and it took 15 min for one pizza to hit the bar. The menu keeps changing as items are removed from the grill. Most of the grill items had been available on the bar, but last night the only grill option was steak with 3 choices of toppings. $1.99 for drinks should be included in the price of the buffet as $14.00 for classic buffet is not comparable to other buffets and screams over priced. Will it stop us from going back? Probably not. You can’t beat the artichoke pizza.

Sadly…..Thumbs down.. Note added 1/2/13: Rev Rooster just reviewed Izzy’s in Corvallis and reports a AYCE lunch buffet for $5.99! What the heck????Last summer I revisited Izzy’s in Salem after a decade long hiatus and was very pleasantly surprised. So I thought I’d take a leisurely drive to Albany and give that location a try.I arrived at shortly after one o’clock on Sunday and the place was hutched, so what you’re about to read cannot be blamed on missing the lunch hour, the bane of most buffet gigs. The young hostess was intently concentrating on a credit card machine project of some sort. I really hated to disturb her and she didn’t seem to like the idea much either. The senior buffet was $10.99, two dollars and fifty cents more than I paid in Salem less than five months ago for a much better experience. I sat down and marked my little grill order form for a Steak and took it to the pass-through. Then grabbed a plate (they’re rather small) and hit the lines. I’m just goofy for Broasted Chicken, and Izzy’s is arguably the best thing they have to offer. There are so few places which still offer this once staple menu item that I like to load up when the opportunity presents itself. It took two carefully timed trips to score 3 wings. Each time the steam table bin was replenished there were lots of backs and unidentifiable cleaver cut pieces but wings were in short supply. I snagged some Scrambled Eggs and Fried Potatoes which were so-so. My brace of small Pizza Pieces were cold. My square of Red Jello was a square of Red Jello. The Salad bar was fresh and the selection was good. The two bite-sized Chocolate Chip Cookies were not like Mom used to make, but were OK. Well into round one, a young woman came to my table and asked if I would like something to drink. I asked for a Diet Cola. She asked if Diet Pepsi would be alright. I am always somewhat baffled by this question since Pepsi has been a Cola all through my 67 years of existence and then some. I told her Diet Pepsi would do nicely.Soon my Steak arrived. Here’s a tip for you, if you insist on going to this place: On the Steak line on your order form, don’t X it. Put a number, probably a 3 or a 4, because your Steak(s) will be between 2 and 3 ounces! Both bites were tender and flavorful, I’ll give it that. All in all, I have to give this place a gentle fail. I cannot recommend Izzy’s in Albany.

Horrible food, stay away from this location. Had a positive experience with the location in Vancouver, wa, but this one will make me not want to go back to any of the restaurants in this chain. Food was below average and not much selection at the buffet. Everything looked like it was sitting there for hours! We went during lunch and it was 8.99 a person ( not including drink) for that garbage!!! We sat and waited to see if they would restock the bar, they only restocked the 4 pizza selections. The girls who worked there are nice, but not enough to get me to go back!

Terrible Food. Izzy has that nasty texture in it’s dough. Think I even got sick after eating there, avoid at all costs.
