Look elsewhere for food. The menu is extensive. It looks like most things are fried. I ordered the special of the day–spaghetti with meatballs. It came with a salad that was right out of the bag–cut lettuce with slivers of carrots. The meatballs tasted like they were just reheated in the microwave. The sauce was thick without any spice. The noodles were hot. This place is a dive and you could do better with a frozen dinner from the store rather than coming here.
Great food. Friendly mom & pop restaurant. Quick service, lot of food for little $. Great hours 5am-8pm 7days week.
Im A Ham for Ham. I am by no means a big fan of Rogers. I think most of their food is sub-par even for a greasy-spoon. However, the silver lining behind the dark cloud that is Rogers is the hot ham sandwich! You may have had hot beef or turkey sandwiches, but have you ever had a ham version? When I saw this on the menu I immediately ordered it. It was served as an open faced sandwich complete with doughy white bread, a pile of ham, poultry gravy, and mashed potatoes (instant >:0) This dish is very simple yet totally delicious! They also serve an oyster omelet that is very good! If you are looking for a good salad go to pizzAmore. If you want a burger go to King Kone. If you want a fantastic hot ham sandwich go to Rogers and give em’ a taste!
Always a dependable good quality meal provided by a courteous staff. A nice homey atmosphere.
Take Out…. I have eaten off and on at Rogers for many years now. I wandered in this morning and the staff still recognized me after several months away. They are always friendly and attentive here. I quickly order breakfast to go and in a short while I was on my way.We open our respective meals and the first impression is smaller portions! I asked for fruit instead of hashbrowns and got a whopping 3 slices! What gives? The diced ham & eggs was also on the slim side.So portions are smaller but the taste is the same. I can always expect edible food here. I’m not going to tip either way on this one…
Before Rock ‘n Roll………….. And before Eisenhower’s interstate highway system, America’s two lane highways were strewn with roadside diners, very much like Roger’s Restaurant. On our annual summer road trips from the verdant Willamette valley in Oregon to the golden wheat fields of flatland Kansas, Pop would assess the potential quality of these places by the number a big rigs parked in the big gravel parking lots. Sometimes this method worked. Roger’s struck such a nostalgic chord, I had little choice but to order my childhood favorite; Hot Beef Sandwich with mashed Potatoes! I chose a fresh green Salad with Honey-Mustard dressing as my side. One seldom sees this dish offered anymore. If you’ve never tried one, it’s sliced Roast Beef, served open faced on doughy white Bread and the whole plate is covered with Beef Gravy. It’s classic to-hell-with-the-calories comfort food! Roger’s version almost brought a tear to my eye. My bride had a deluxe Hamburger and a cup of Beef Barley Soup. She wasn’t in the same time machine I was, and consequently was not as jazzed about this place as I. She said her Burger was good, but thought the Sweet Pickle slices were unusual. Her Soup was a little flat, she remarked. Our server, Michelle, did a good job and the place was dated but clean.I noticed they have Hot Turkey Sandwiches also. Yeah. That’s right. You gotta know I’m gonna have one!
