Fantastic. I had heard great things about it, and I can’t believe I waited this long to go there. The decor is nothing special, but the food was so, so good. I have definitely found a new favorite place to eat in Albany. Wow!
Yum!. My boyfriend and I eat a lot of take out Asian food. Toki is a favorite. Their portions are always huge and filling. They have some good vegetarian options: I usually get the steamed tofu, veggies, and rice. Caleb gets teriyaki chicken/ beef, and I always help out with some of the yakisoba noodles, the sauce is so delicious!
Don’t come here if you don’t habe time to burn. I arribed at 4pm. No other customers. They waited 5 minutes to begin preparing the food. I finally got it after waiting 20 mins. Average flavor and quality for a teriyaki place.
Great food!. Toki Teriyaki is one of my favorite places to eat! the service is great! employees are friendly! and the food serving sizes are awesome! 🙂
When it comes to Toki Teriyaki…. This rooster is perched on the fence. I walked into the empty dining area today at around 3pm for a late lunch. I promptly walked to the counter and ordered the chicken yakitori meal with a side of kim chi. My meal arrived without utensils so I returned to the counter to fetch my fork. When I returned to my table I took a moment to look over my relatively bland looking plate. Two sticks of bite-sized chicken lay next to a mountain of white rice that lay next to an uncooked, unseasoned, and undressed cabbage salad. My bowl of kim chi was interesting. For those who may not know, kim chi is a traditional Korean dish made of fermented vegetables and various seasonings. It is an exquisite sour and spicy dish when done correctly. Now I am just speculating, but I believe they use store bought kim chi instead of home-made, which was disappointing. As I had expected, the whole meal was just average. Not bad, but not great. The restaurant is a charming little place and the staff were very friendly. If you are very hungry and happen to be standing right next to Toki Teriyaki give em a taste.
Just about as middle of the road……… As a smiling ‘possum. I liked it alright, but it sure didn’t wow me.The dcor is a little Spartan, as Teriyaki places tend to be. Black and White tile floors are, I suspect, a remnant from an earlier incarnation. The tables and chairs all matched, but were not built for comfort. When I encounter this, I always wonder if they’re not designed to encourage quick customer turn-over.It’s an order at the counter set-up. You’re given a red plastic number to place on your table so the counter person can find you. I had their Yakisoba with Beef Teriyaki. ($8) It was acceptable but the Teriyaki Sauce was much sweeter than I prefer. A couple of the thinly sliced Beef pieces were gristly. Also, the portion was smaller than is usual at other places. There were Lemon Wedges for Water or Soft Drinks. When compared to Love Love or Young’s in Salem or Mashita in Stayton, Toki Teriyaki definitely takes a back seat.
Kathy. My husband and I love this place! We try to eat here at least once a month. When we have out of towns guests we alyays take them to Toki’s!
