The Millionaires Manhattan was amazing. I drank two and I have not stopped thinking about this crazy good cocktail. The bourbon was infused with figs and vanilla and the glass was washed with Port. The ambiance was delightful and we had a mix of happy hour starters and then dinner options. I split the halibut dish and a spring morel pasta that was delicious. I will be returning as it was such an enjoyable evening!

And the cherry upside down cake with vanilla gelato was unique and just the right touch of flavor and sweetness. Inviting decor and wonderful staff. Glad we found this restaurant.

Try the lamb meatballs followed by the lasagne for a great night out….dessert to follow, and on Mondays, bottles of wine are 40% off.
Friendly bar, good food.. Went in for happy hour, tried 5 dishes, liked them all especially the lamb meatballs. Bread was also really good. The woman behind the bar was sincere and professional, she recommended wine that we enjoyed, and made sure we had everything we needed without intrusion.
For a good time go next door.. OK this place is good and the Mozzarella that is 2 hours old… I am still craving it and I am not a fan of Mozzarella. It is pretentious, and over priced. The caf next door is much more relaxed and bar like. I love caf Mingo and have loved it since it opened, the food has always been very good, never mind blowing but never bad either. It is the atmosphere that I have always loved: cramped, noisy, casual, friendly, steamed windows, oils soaked tables, freindly banter with the table next to yours a place where the wine flows freely. It is more like a true Italian trattoria than any place in the US I have gone to. Bar Mingo took away the fun and made it classy… Too Bad.
Portions,….hmmmm. Bar Mingo is a great find on a wonderful street, NW 21st (which I much prefer to it’s over-publicized sister, NW 23rd). The food at Bar Mingo is fantastic, with a great selection of appetizers and entrees. And the wine list is both appropriate to the food and well priced.My only gripe is the price for a pasta entree compared to the amount served. Don’t get me wrong,…these pasta dishes are fabulous, well thought out, and always interesting. But, for the price you’d usually pay for a regularly proportioned pasta entree at any other restaurant in town, you receive about half the amount of food (imagine a mound of pasta comparable to half a softball-size). If only the price was dropped $2-3 per pasta dish,…then I be a total fan. But when a purveyor sticks it too much to my pocketbook, I tend to see that as an insult to the customer.
