Mothra Says…Really Good Cocktails….and More.. So one afternoon a few weeks back, our friends M and M met us at 345 pm outside the front door at Bartini on 21st and Glisan. So why so early you ask? Well, this place is a necessity for arriving promptly. In fact, at about 4:30 pm that afternoon, I nudged the group and asked them to look around the bar… the place had not only filled up but there was a standing line out the door. Yep. Just like I had professed earlier at 345 that afternoon. If you do not get here early, YOU WILL STAND! The four of us had another terrific evening out with cocktails and some terrific hors d oeuvres: The flatbread with grilled chicken and cherries with smoked gouda, the Ahi tuna plate, and the crab cakes were amazing. Now these are all not only very tasty but rather affordable as well. That makes it more affordable and fun. Mothra says… good hors d oeuvres, good taste, good value, great time. One of our new local happy hour favs. 3.45 of 5.022 Oct, 2012Mothra Says…007 is in Heaven Here. I had heard from my homies on 23rd (yeah I said it) that Bartini was a great place to have a martini and, beyond that, has a great hors d oeuvres happy hour. We arrived at about 4:45p on a recent Saturday to a full house. Thats right, standing room only with about 6 persons ahead of us. Because we were a party of two, we slipped ahead and sat at a small communal couch in the back right corner. There was a really nice couple seated on the other side of the couch as we shared the dining table. Eddie and Jennifer are a nice young couple (well, younger than us) who make Bartini a regular stop. Eddie was drinking Brandy warmers and highly recommended it. Jennifer was drinking this decadent sweet chocaolate item martini that looked amazing. Personally, I am more conventional with my martinis but given the menu here with I am guessing near 100 different martinis, I just had to try at least one different tini this evening. Shilo dropped by and K ordered the sparkling mandarin cosmo with lime and a slight sugar rim. Me, I had to have the 007: 12 vodka, 12 gin, a wave of vermouth over the top and a lemon peel. NICE!. Although not being a gin drinker, this was a fantastic drink. Wow! We took some time and ordered some hors d oeuvres: Shilo recommended the platter which has a variety of hors doeuvres: 4 small tasty crab cakes, two skewers of satay chicken, two shredded pork tacos, and a martini glass of Yukon gold mashed potatoes mixed with brie and gorgonzola. Piping hot to boot. Sorry, still hungy, another plate of 4 coconut shrimp with a sweet chili lime sauce and another order of chicken satay. Mmmmm. That was going to be dinner tonight. Another round of tinis: K ordered a bird of paradise and I a brandy warmer as Eddie had suggested: brandy, orange liquior, and muddled lemon. Good company, great martinis great menu, very good service. Hors d oeuvres, 4 tinis: $34.00 add tip, $42.00 out the door. Mothra says: Good times. Sean C would love it here. 3.50 of 5.0.

Good happy hour, cheddar fondue is pretty decent. Sit outside if you can, inside they blast crappy music and it can be hard to chat with anyone.

Love the happy hour here. I always get the shrimp tacos and fondue which are both spectacular. They close at 11pm on sundays now and last call is 10:30p so you better get in early. We saw a lot of people turned away before closing.

Happy Hour-So pleased!. I kept going past it on the way to trader joes and it was always PACKED! So, one happy hour, my boyfriend and I went in and were so impressed. Their cheddar fondue and tuna slider were fantastic…! I was less impressed with their martinis, but the price was really good. I’m going back for the cheese.
