We were long time fans, but recently service has slipped and now their menu is embracing such processed ingredients like American cheese instead of cheddar or blue cheese. Nice ambience but be skeptical of their ingredients! Velveeta and American cheese are gross no matter how trendy the joint. Try some local artisanal cheese instead.
JoBar is one of my favorite date night places. I love sitting at the outdoor bistro tables and watching the NW 23rd world pass by or sitting at the open windows facing the street. The interior is also enjoyable with warm furnishings and colorful art. I enjoy the menu and innovative cocktails. My go to favorite meal is the Shrimp Cake Salad. The shrimp cakes are a bit spicy which I love. I also enjoy the tomato bisque soup or in the summer the gazpacho.
This place is really nice. It’s a little pricey, but pretty worth it. The cocktail I had was delicious. I got the My Bohemian, which was very light, and a little fruity, but not too sweet. The bartender was also very nice, friendly, and professional. I didn’t get a meal, but I did get desert, and let me say the Warm Chocolate Cake was one of the best desserts I’ve ever had. It was rich and chocolatey without being too heavy or sweet. Definitely would come back.

Primarily a cocktail bar that sells average nosh to Nob Hill types. When you douse salad greens in a heavy oil, you demonstrate a lack of understanding of the product. Their money must come from the inventive booze. Stay for the drinks…
