Today was my first day to try the food there and it was one of my best experience. Thiss the best Middle Eastern food ever in the US, this is the only restaurant that reminds me by home. The food is just amazing and they have so many options. Not to mention, the restaurants style is very unique and the employees are so helpful and friendly

There was a long wait and the staff is really rude and unprofessional. The place is rather dirty and the food was not appealing. They offer a free sweet if you give them a 5 star review which is so misleading to the public. I dont recommend this place.

Really cool restaurant. Very authentic type of style. The food is tasty and different than any place I’ve ever been. You sit on pillows on the ground if you want or you can sit in booths. They come poor rose scented water over your fingers so that you can rinse them. And then you eat primarily with your hands. It’s a really fun group activity. I would highly suggest this if you’re looking for an activity to get a little culture.

This is one of my favorite spots in Portland. They provide a true experience and the food is delicious. We have made a reservation each time to ensure the best experience 🙂

What an excellent experience! We arrived early on a Wednesday and the place was not busy at all. Possibly 6 groups were there the whole time. We chose the five course dinner. The waiter allowed us to move at our own pace and explained the process so we knew what to expect. It was nice to be relaxed and not feel as if we needed to clear out for the next group. The dinner was definitely a Moroccan ritual. Everything about the meal looked and felt authentic. We particularly loved the bread basket being waive about periodically. I spent 2 1/2 years in Africa and found nearly every aspect of the experience to mesh perfectly wit my African experience. Now for the food! We had spicy lamb, beef kabobs, vegetarian, and poached spicy salmon. We traded tasts of each others dished and found them to all be delicious and unique. The savory aspects were true to the region and surprisingly delicious. Even though eating with our hands was a bit out of sorts (I almost wished I had brought my own silverware) we enjoyed th large hand towels, hand washing, and digging in. We all thought it humorous when the desert, a finger food honey based pastry, came with spoons! Top the whole thing off with a pleasingly warm sweet tea with a minty flavor and we were all very satisfied. We definitely will make the trip from Albany again. It was more than worthwhile.

Just a fun place. A place to go for the atmosphere and fun more than for a superb culinary experience.

An exotic disappointment. I love the savory, sweet, and spicy dishes of Morocco, none of the dishes on the menu included the flavor profiles that I was expecting. Their food was not very complex and tasted mass produced. The chicken was dry, which is virtually impossible if it was cooked in a tagine. However the dining experience was fun and exotic, its just unfortunate that the food and service wasnt. We felt rushed and underappreciated by our waiter. If you do decided to dine at Marrakesh, reserve a couch table, trust me when I say this, their pillow tables are extremely uncomfortable.
