The first thing that one notices upon entering the restaurant is a huge birdhouse. I was initially perplexed but it all made sense once we were seated in their patio. It’s surrounded by a slew of birdhouses with a gigantic fountain in the center of it all. I don’t get the motive, but it’s a very unique Portland thing to do. To this day, I believe this is the best restaurant patio in all of Portland. The food is farm-to-table Pacific Northwest inspired. We ordered a bunch of items. We particularly enjoyed their cauliflower soup and their crab deviled eggs. My pasta had the proper amount of sauce, it was seasoned perfectly, and had a pleasant texture. The salads were fresh and the pizza had an astounding crust. The staff was attentive, accommodating, and didn’t rush us. The wine was good as well as their cocktails. The only major negative is that we had to send several drinks back because of dirty glassware.

Would not recommend the pancakes! Very dry and heavy. Seemed like they used a hamburger press. Had to ask for butter and barely got a small party. Quite a disappointment for $11.00!

Getting a Little Lazy. We have been to Meriwethers many times for brunch and dinners. We have always enjoyed our meals and service – really never any complaints. Maybe it was a bad day, but out Brunch on Sunday was a little let down. Our greeting was very nice and they did give us a better table when we asked. Our waitress was nice, but seemed to be absent a majority of the time. Was kinda confusing since we were early and the place was not very busy. The crab Benedict was very good as usual, and they are always accommodating to my husband who always asks for this even though it is no longer on the menu. The chicken and waffles was a real let down. The chicken was bland and fried beyond recognition – very upsetting since we encouraged our niece to order this for Brunch. The chilaquiles, new to the menu, was soggy, and very bland. I know they are trying to appease all palettes, but they should realize that if the patron is ordering they expect some spice. I am hoping that Meriwethers are not getting complacent and start to pick up their game. I will give them another chance, but it may be my last.Food: 30/40Ambiance/atmosphere/vibe: 19/20Service: 16/20Value: 16/20Total: 81/100

Not a happy diner. Salmon grossly overlooked served with tasteless under cooked lentils and mushrooms very little sauce. Red wine is served in white wine glass with insult to it. The only redeeming quality was the farm salad that had a perfect dressing and wild tasteful unusual greens even though they were slightly wilted. Salmon definitely not a $36.00 dish. Would expect this kind of fish in Nebraska not pacific NW

Bad Margarita Priced at $15. Overpriced food. Lovely outdoor setting.. My friend ordered a Cadillac Margarita without salt. The server brought the drink with the glass rim coated in salt. After trying to get somebody’s attention for about five minutes, the server came to the table and took back the untouched drink (without acknowledging that it was ordered without salt). The drink came back in a new glass free of salt, but the salt could still be tasted and the drink was also substandard in other ways. The server did finally acknowledge that she was the source of the mistake. The garden setting is lovely, but the happy hour menu prices do not apply there. The menu had few items of interest, and I am not sure if it consisted of only happy hour food items. I saw other patrons being served large green salads, but there was no item like that on the menus we were given. The prosciutto pizza was good, but overpriced. Everything tasted good and was very fresh. The meal was okay, but I don’t plan on going back to Meriwether’s.

Excellent food and service. Locally grown ingredients were fresh and tasty. Inventive dishes were prepared well. Service was well executed and gracious. We ordered a kale and Apple salad, potato corn chowder, paella, and a vegetarian kale/fava bean dish. Lemon cheesecake dessert was to die for! We would definitely come back here.

Not impressed to be honest. Beautiful building and great atmosphere but unfortunately the food didn’t match. My pulled pork sandwich was dry and nothing special, the fries were okay, and chicken salad sandwich was bland. The Bloody Mary was delicious though!
