Cute, intimate place. Ordered the green and pear tea. It was very good. This place gets a lot of business. Lots of bodies looking for seating on a Saturday evening. Tea came in a timely manner, barista and staff were very patient and kind. Wasn’t my kind of atmosphere but I did enjoy myself. imriche.com
I had been at this location twice and had a vastly different experience. The first time was excellent. I had the Kashmiri Chai with awesome spice flavor, creamy, smooth and just delicious. It was so good that I went back next day to try the chocolate chipotle Chai and original kobucha, both were great, although the kashimiri Chai was still reigning supreme in my mind.Of course I had to go back this recent trip to Portland. This time, a little disappointing. It was very pack in the store that day possibly due to the chilly weather out. My kashimiri Chai was watery and astringent, no where close to my first cup there. DH had the immunity tea and it was ok. I wonder if the quality difference was a result of the large volume of customers. I will still go back and give it another chance, and hope that the last experience was a fluke. doofniks.com
The Rose City may be known for its world class coffee scene, but Te Chai T makes for a cosy home away from home for the city’s tea lovers. Up the stairs in the tea shop, customers can choose from an extensive list of top tier organic teas. Lovely service and creative company. paperairplaneblog.com
Tea Chai Te. This was one of my favorite spots to get a hot drink when I was on 23rd. It is a cute little tea shop . One of my favorite aspects was their tea corner where they have all this loose tea in jars with numbers on them. They have a book that lets you know what each tea is and you can open the jars to smell the different loose teas to help you decide. They also served great bubble tea that comes in a wide range of flavors like peach, raspberry and kiwi to lavender, passion fruit, red bean and ginger. I loved going out on their cute deck in the summer time. The only thing is sometimes is crowded and you may only be able to grab your drink and go. But on a day with temperate weather you can sit on the steps outside. Either way it is worth checking out.
Good place to study. I really enjoy the staff and the tea. Sometimes it is a bit chilly and you can get people in there talk really loud (but where don’t you get people talking to each other or on the phone that think everybody needs to hear their important conversations…) It’s family owned and I think it started from a college project or something. Must try if you are on 23rd.
The house brewed Kombucha is really tasty!
