Very nice spot. We had the fondue experience which is a cheese fondue, two entrees, and one desert. Our choices were the ruby port cheese, east meets west, lobster&prawns, and butterscotch desert. We loved the ruby port. A rich bold flavor, we would have loved to have some apples to go with the bread. We made a mistake on our entrees getting the seasoned fire pot for out broth. It was very good but the tomato overpowered much of our seafood. When we return we wil go for the simple chicken broth. Desert was great and getting cookie dough dipped in chocolate really ends a meal well. Overall we went home stuffed with good food.
Been here several times, but this time it took FOREVER to get each course of the fondue experience. By the time our dessert course arrived, all of the desserts were thawed and impossible to dip in the chocolate. We’ve certainly had better, more prompt service here in the past!
My boyfriend and I went into Urban Fondue tonight one of our favorite places and had great meal everything is extremely fresh. And the atmosphere was amazing as always our waiter Sean was fantastic high energy and very accommodating definitely will ask for him every time we come in now, couldn’t ask for a better waiter.
We had an absolutely wonderful experience. Service was amazing. Jake was our server and he couldnt have done a better job. He was ver knowledgeable and friendly. The food tasted great and the sauces were a great touch. This place was far superior to Melting Pot. The decorations made the place warm and inviting. The seating was comfortable and roomie. Please visit it was wonderful.
Date night. So we have date night like 3 times a year (family of four) tight budget. I was in the mood for fondue but I was stymied by the prices at The Melting Pot and I kind of hate chain restaurants anyways. After a short internet search, I booked a reservation on line at Urban Fondue. When we arrived we were promptly seated at a large, semi private booth replete with cushions. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable and non obtrusive all at the same time. I loved that they used broth that way I could eat more with less guilt. They were running a special at the time so we had cheese, meat and a heavenly chocolate desert and stayed in budget. I am a thrifty New Englander who values proximity to zero! I don’t have a lot of dining experience in Portland (unfortunately) but I would definitely go again. I think nest time though I would go with a group of friends.
Great service and delicious meal!. So this is my husband and I first time here. The place was crowded and the waitress said we could wait at Bartini and get a drink. Well we did and the service there was horrible or lack of service. Granted the place was full but I did ask a waitress if we could order drinks and she said okay and then never came back. So then ten minutes past and we went back to Urban Fondue and then the waitress was just clearing a booth for us. She gave us a round of drinks after noticing we didn’t have any and since I told them that they were not servicing us. I thought that was the best and right way the waitress accommodated us. We were just going to do dessert here but then the waiter introduce us the Fondue experience of three fondues. Heck why not?!? OMG this was the best experience and food that we had. I loved the atmosphere and the food. Service was wonderful on the restaurant side.. gave them a big tip after asking what time they closed 9pm on Sunday and it was 9:30 and still on our entree part. They never rushed and service couldn’t be better 🙂 Definitely something everyone should try!
It’s fun!. I have been to Urban Fondue 3 or 4 times this year, with family, friends, valentines day…. It’s just fun and much better than melting pot. You have a lot to choose from on the menu…many cheese fondues to choose from, many meats and broths to cook the meats in, and many desert fondues…All in all its a good time. Its an expensive outing but fondue always is.
