Horrible crab. Went to the market to buy fresh crab. After getting home and starting to pick the crab realized it had been frozen and was smelly, dry and stinky!! Four frozen crab for $85 sold as fresh. DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! Called two days in a row to get this matter cleared up and they have not returned my call.
Best fish and chips (light panko batter), best slumgullion (clam chowder with bay shrimp, and best cioppino in town. Go here for seafood when in Newport. Only complaint is cioppino is $8.50, not $6.00. Super good food!!!
Best chowder. We thought this was the tastiest chowder on the coast after trying many bowls. Not too thick and with a nice touch of herbal flavor. Good balance of clams and potatoes. My husband got the amazing Cioppino with lots of seafood stuffed in there. He was impressed. Didn’t try the fish and chips though but would definitely make a special stop for more soup!
Great chowder, but…… We went here because of good reviews of the clam chowder, and it did not disappoint! the fried prawns were also very good. However, my wife got the halibut and chips, and my daughter got the red snapper and chips. my wife tasted both, and could not tell the difference, though the halibut was four dollars more. Also i was not impressed by the crinkle cut fries nor the tarter sauce.
The Best Clam Chowder. My husband and daughter absolutely loved the clam chowder. My daughter went so far to say that she thinks they put something addictive in it because she could not get enough. They both agreed that it was much, much better than Mo’s.
