A real gem. Discovered this oldies style diner a week ago and will definitely come again next time in Newport.The food was good and the atmosphere was cool. Not to great looking from the highway but don’t let that detract you from giving them a try. It is well worth it if you like the old fashioned diner setting and great real hamburger and shakes.
Great place, we’ll definitely be back. We were driving by and hungry as a horse. We are so glad we stopped there. It’s family owned and operated and we loved it. The food was excellent. My burger (the Blue Suede Burger) came with copious perfectly fried french fries and an awesome pickle. The burger was scrumptious, the fries perfect and the coke I had was a true fountain Coke so it was JUST LIKE the Coke I had when I was a kid. I haven’t tasted that taste in decades… awesome. I cannot understand the lesser reviews, guess they don’t have flashbacks like the older generation, who knows, we loved it. We also has a chocolate malt ( a real one made from real ice cream) and it was creamy and a huge portion. The 50-60’s theme was refreshing and definitely a flashback for us and then there was the music from the jukebox. We sat there even after eating our meal just to listen to songs neither of us had heard in decades. We cannot give a higher recommendation for this place. The owner came out and served us and his daughter was our waitress, a delightful young lady. Its so neat to see a family working together like they do. Keep up the great job, we’ll definitely be back and tell everyone we know to come here.
DISGUSTING. Honestly, I was surprised. I just thought people leaving the nagative reviews were being picky. The wait was ridiculous. We got there at 2:00, not even a full restaurant and got the burgers at 2:50. Fries, burnt GREASY and gross. PLEASE don’t waste your money…it’s nasty and the service is terrible.
Good food, good service,. Burgers are great, as is the pizza ans calzone, fountain is wonderful, our servings have always been more then we could eat and the ice cream sundaes are sooooo good we are regulars and often take our whole family there and of course our out of town guests always ask to go back
Dont even go…yuk!!!!. Last week meal and was overpriced crappy food..i felt very sick after dinner.and what i ate i saw twice..in and out…dont even go..burger king next store is alot better..the games for kids overpriced and do not work.dont drink the water it has a very bad taste..and dirty place!!…we were the only people there at dinner on a friday…big joke!! don’t know how they do it???
