Horrible Customer Service. I was treated so rude upon entering by the man working the dining room floor on Saturday morning. He yelled at me for blocking his driveway, which I was not. I had left the car running with my cancer-chemo mom and baby to check on the wait. I tried to explain, he ignored me, no eye contact, cold and rude. I’m passionate about supporting small businesses, unfortunately La Maison will not be one of them. I can only hope this was a poor hiring decision and not the owner.
Fresh Bananas and Cream with Toasted Hazelnuts. Delicious. ..29 Dec, 2014Salmon Benedict and Paris Omelette. Absolutely delicious. . The salmon hollandaise sauce was to die for. ..
Great food – poor customer service. Our breakfast was great but they accidentally charged us twice on our credit card. Once we discovered the double charge, I figured they would cooperate and refund the second charge. After several weeks of repeated calls and polite assurances that they would get back to us, they never refunded the charge nor did they bother to call back even once. On my final call, the politeness disappeared and they hung up on me while I was still speaking. I would expect a restaurant to correct an error like this immediately — not ignore it for weeks and especially not to hang up on a paying customer. I’ll eat elsewhere next time I’m in Newport.
The Best. This is a place you won’t want to miss. Well worth the wait! I can’t stop thinking about them

Mostly a plus…. Better known for its breakfasts, and perhaps rightly so. Our lunch experience has been a mixed bag. Cream of Broccoli soup is the finest I have ever had; perfection in a soup bowl. The cold sandwiches are likewise really among the best anywhere. The one glaring disappointment has been the Monte Cristo sandwich, which was just not on a par with the balance of their offerings. While by design not a light sandwich, the La Maison Monte Cristo is just ultra dense and heavy, and doesn’t have the layers of flavor found in Monte Cristos by other talented restaurants. Breakfast for sure, and with some fine tuning, lunch can be (but not consistently), a great experience as well.
Very charming older house, beautiful pastries and delicious breakfast. Loved the Versailles crepes and Eggs Benedict. Highly recommend.
