Simply the best Taco Wrap. My first visit to Nye Beach Caf. I had the best taco wrap I’ve ever had. As a former Texas resident, this is the highest reward I can give Judy at Nye Beach Caf. It was great to have the owner appear and ask us if we enjoyed our meal.
Excellent!. This is the BEST food in Newport!!! Wholesome, delicious and real. We are locals and eat here regularly. It feels ***and tastes*** like you’re getting a meal from Mom! Can’t beat that! THIS is the business to support! We LOVE Nye Beach Cafe!!!
Dreadful experience. After having a really good experience here in January, we took guests in for lunch last week. We’d been walking on the beach and wanted to have hot drinks while we waited for sandwiches to-go. Although the small restaurant did not seem overly packed, the waitress was harried, annoyed and intolerant. She came to take our order 3 different times only to then say she’d be back and go do something else. After 20 minutes we had the coffees. We then attempted to order the sandwiches, but she said they weren’t doing lunch yet. Website and menu (which I was holding) say lunch from 11, and it was 11:45. She just shrugged and said they were busy making breakfasts, and could not say when they might start making lunch. She then allowed us to place the orders — a painful process because even as she read the menu over our shoulders she could not get the items right, and because she refused ANY customization, like leaving lettuce off a sandwich — and then said they should be ready in about an hour and a half, MAYBE. Seriously! Thinking that was ludicrous, I asked her to check with the kitchen, but she refused. It is also worth mentioning that when we started to order she said it would be best if most of us tried to have the same thing, for the cook’s convenience. It was surreal and, in retrospect, even comical, but at the time it was far and away THE worst experience I’ve ever had in a restaurant. The food, in the end, was marginal given that no one was permitted to have what they wanted / how they wanted. We thought this was a gem, but will NOT be back.
Food is fantastic…. And flavorful with lots to choose from. A location that is close to the ocean — along with bright and cheerful staff — compliment what is probably, easily, the best breakfast spot in Newport and probably one of the best on Oregon Coast. 🙂
Nice find. Traveling with kids we look for quick, friendly restaurants. This one had good reviews, so we tried it. So glad we did! The clam chowder is very tasty, and we had crab cakes upon the server’s recommendation. YUM! Chock full of crab! And accompanied with a fancy salad, mashed potatoes and grilled garlic bread means you leave full and happy.
Great breakfasts and lunches. Whatever you order, you will be pleased. We are locals an this is where we love to eat!
Very friendly owner, excellent coffee, copy of NY times to make your way through. I had a gluten free breakfast sandwich; thick bacon, perfect consistency of gluten free bread- she uses a friends recipe that has been perfected!
