Don’t eat here. The waitress/owner (I think) was filthy dirty, the floors were very sticky and the food was not good. The person waiting on us was more interested in the cleaning she was doing than serving us. I had the fish & chips and they were the worst fish & chips I have ever had (including the boxed frozen ones that you bake in your oven). My husband had the Oyster Po’boy because he has always wanted to try one but it was awful. Go to the Local Ocean down the block instead – I hear it is worth the wait.
This place was the best place to eat in Florence. The staff was so friendly and our food came right away. Maybe that’s because we were the only ones there but that made it even better. If your in town this place is a must.
Service was slow but, food was excellent. I had the seafood pad thai which was tasty. Others said the clam chowder was very good. Kids enjoyed popcorn shrimp.
Sail Inn for grubbin eats.. This little family run bar/diner sits right down on the water, just across the street from the marina with a very expansive view of the entire bay, including the breakwater, on which there were twenty or so sea lions out enjoying the day. We actually came to the reasturaunt to look at the two rental suites which occupy the buildings upper floors, and which, by the by, are well appointed, clean, quite and reasonably priced. However, having tied up our hostess for half an hour up there, we felt obligated to have a bite to eat. We sat down and had a look at the menu, which was a somewhat eclectic mix of oriental style cuisine and american standard fare, with a bit of seaside diner thrown in for good measure. The beverage selection encompassed all the bar staples, as well as some things like thai tea, which we ordered, and which was delicious. I ordered crab rangoon, and a blt, and my other half ordered crab balls and clam chowder. Prep time was a bit long, perplexingly, as we were the only folks there (4:00 pm), but we discovered why when we got our appetizers. The crab rangoon had obviously just been made fresh, stuffing and all, with real crab, cheese and finely chopped veggies, all packed into a wanon and fried crisp, but not oily. The crab balls showed a similar level of attention, freshly prepared, battered and fried to a perfect toasted brown. Both were served with complementory sauces, a sweet asian style, and tarter respectivly. After we finished our appetizers, our entrees came out in short order. The blt was nothing to write home about, but tasty, but the chowder was quite good, sporting a very well balenced flavor. All Inn all, a pleasing meal, moderatly priced. We will certainly return.
