Order the right food.. Have eaten here twice. Both the service and the food were great the first time, and marginal the second time.On the first visit we eat the prime rib. It was well cooked and flavorful. The service was great even though they had a large group to take care of. Every bit the of the meal was enjoyable. The waitress was pleasant and helped guide is in our menu selections. On the second visit I eat the smoked riblets. They were burned and the sauce was so-so. A different waitress provided annoying service.Make the waitress’ give you sound advice on what is good when you are there.

I was there recently. It was super busy yet the friendly staff were fast and so was the food. I had the sirloin which was excellent. Just a suggestion….don’t bother with the Costco bagged salad and the chowder could be improved according to my friend but otherwise I would definitely stop here when passing by again.

Went to Szabos on a Monday night. First impression was ok, it’s a bar for sure, but I’ve had good food in bars. Seated immediatly, place was about half full, 7 tables, about 20 people. Upon seating, found the table to be sticky, the menus to be sticky, the salt and pepper shakers, you guessed it, sticky. The floor was clean though. No wait, also sticky. Waitress was cordial, but service was slow. 40 mins to take our dinner order. We ordered two appetizers to split, mozzarella sticks, which are the same ones you get everywhere, served with a bland ragu too thick to dip them in, and jalapeno poppers, which were all right. Our order came with chowder, which was bland and unimpressive, though warm, and an iceberg salad mix, which was an iceberg salad mix. After we finished our appetizers, we waited an addtional 30 minutes for our meal. I ordered the half rack of BBQ ribs, with the original sauce, and a side of twice baked potato. My beautiful wife ordered the grilled salmon, with a side of rice pilaf. What we got was somewhat different. My wifes plate was sent out with a side of soggy, cold fries, marinating in salmon juice and a lukewarm vegitable medely with shredded, unmelted cheese on top. I recived a plate with a hot half rack of ribs, a cold, undercooked twice baked potato, and the same limp, lukewarm veggie mess. The salmon was good, hot and not over or undercooked, if small, but the ribs were reprehensible. The ribs themselves were not smoked. Not dryrubbed. Not seasoned in any way. And the sauce was a crime. Literally the most aweful thing I have ever put in my mouth. Drowning in apple cider viniger, not in a North Carolina way, but in a chug it straight from the bottle way. I was unable to force down even a single rib. To top it all off, when I wished to wash my hands of this travesty, I was sent to the womens restroom, the mens being out of order. When I arrived there, I pushed the door open and found, to my suprise, a female customer in the midst of her buisness. She was understandably somewhat flustered, haveing thought she had locked the door. After waiting for her to vacate the room, I washed my hands in the sink, which was, of course, also sticky, and examined the door to see why it had opened on that poor women. Sure enough, the lock was broken. Also sticky. I will be avoiding this place in the future.

Half and Half. Upon arrival, I was skeptical about what our breakfast experience was about to be. It’s in a bar, and there’s no disguising that. Happy to see seafood on a breakfast menu, I had The Crabber, an omlette totally stuffed to the gils with crab and covered with American cheese. The crab was good. The toast and jam was REALLY good, which is weird because I normally don’t even try the toast.. My breakfast mate’s plate was a totally different experience. He ordered a half order of biscuits and gravy from the unfriendly, almost zombie-like waitress. Him: ‘Is the whole order nuts, is it really big?’ Her: ‘huh?…yes.’ It turned out to be chunks of bread smothered in Knorr-like gravy. No substance, flavor, or anything other than a plate of just diluted ‘stuff’. He hated it and we were extremely disappointed in the demeanor of the waittress. I chalked it up to not being local, but in a touist town, she may want to change her approach a bit.

NOT! This place was so dirty and the staff was rude and the food was TERRIBLE. Dinner impossible is highly needed.

A great place for guys and beer. Lots of great sandwiches and fried food. What I really wanted was fresh seafood and vegetables, but alas only battered seafood and nothing green in sight. Service was good. The only reason we stayed was because the kids were starving, but I was very disappointed. I had a salad of only iceberg lettuce and a bowl of thick chowder, good nothing to rave about. The kids fish and chips was excellent, But just not what I wanted.

I’ve talked to about 100 people who remember this place as one of the place that’s ever been created the guy had such passion and did such a great job. I found out the original guy died and that when it was sold is when it just went downhill. It’s a very sad tragic loss.Worst food ever my grandmas retirement home made better food. This was atrocious avoid at all costs. Went downhill in the last 7 years giant disappointment.
