Love the Irish environment. Super yummy and fun menu. I ordered Irish stew for a fair price of 11.50- it was made with delicious lamb. I’ll go again.
Great little pub. They stuck dollars on the ceiling. Beers on tap are excellent. Try the oyster shooters as they are fresh from the bay and wonderful. Fast and good service. Pub food. Great location in downtown area.
Great service! Great beer!!! Irish coffee spectacular!!!
The Legend. Kells has been a long-time favorite of mine. I try to come here every time I visit Portland. It’s just down the street from Voodoo donuts. There’s always live music and the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. I usually just get a beer and fries but their burgers are do die for as well. I also recommend the Clam chowder which is served on Fridays.26 Sep, 2014House brew: Irish Stout. A great dark beer with lots of character, caramel aftertaste.
Slowest service in town. Nothing ruins a good meal (my wife’s Shepard pie was wonderful) like poor service. It started right at the door. We stood around waiting to be greeted and seated – we finally just grabbed a booth. Then the waiting game really started. After we finally ordered, the food did not take long to be delivered. My lamb stew was not hot, however. And they forgot to deliver the soda bread – I had to ask twice before it was delivered! We were going to order a dessert, but, after waiting 20 minutes for someone to clear the table and ask about dessert, we decided that we didn’t want to sit around waiting even longer. We had not even seen our waiter for 15 minutes so we just grabbed the first staff that walked by for our check. Mind you, it was not busy (5 PM), but the staff seemed to be having a good time rather than having their customers have a great dining experience.
The best Rueben sandwich I have ever had anywhere!
