While visiting Portland my sisters and I utilized the tourist map which touts OTP as one of the cities most popular eateries. As I am a self proclaimed pizza expert, I decided to see what this place was all about.Since we went in around 3PM there was only one other table there. It was kind of odd sitting in such a quiet eatery but the decor and atmosphere would probably be right up my alley if a few more people had been there. The self serve water and seat yourself then return to the counter to order are different for me. The cook was friendly and was quite playful when I asked about the rumors of OTP being haunted. We ordered a cheese stick and a large half house special and half dragon lady (minus capers, add basil and prosciutto). For there being only two tables there, food took a little bit longer than expected. Our cheese stick came out first and as the waitress set it down she explained they were currently making us another one as the cook had not popped a large bubble while they were cooking therefore leaving a huge spot without cheese. No biggie for us as we’re pretty chill and it held is over. Pizza was just average, far from what I would call great. Their sausage is really good. Prices are slightly high. I don’t drink so I can’t rate the beer selection, but it seemed hefty.
I write this as I sit here 1.5 hours after I order my pizza. We were told to come here because it has delicious food and beer. The beer has been great; the garlic knots are really good. However, we were told that we should expect our pizza within 40 minutes. 1.5 hours later, and after multiple attempts at asking what was happening we were finally told that we should have been told to expect at least a 1.5 hour wait before we got our food. Our pizza just got here (1.75 hrs later) and our order is wrong. Pizza is good but not worth the wait.
Really Good Place. Tried this place on our trip to Portland. We got directed here by someone at Pioneer Square Visitor Centre. First of all, love the old buliding. They really did a good thing by making the place into a style of what the building used to be known for. The service is excellent, the one guy who served us was very accommodating. The Italian sodas are delicious and refreshing. The pizza here was just plain tasty. The sauce is clearly homemade, and you can choose on of their own vsions, or build your own. They also had very good soups and salads. If you’re looking for a great place to eat in downtown Portland, try this place. You won’t be disappointed.
Best pizza in town!Their pasta is great too!:)It’s a cool place to visit.Don’t forget your sharpie, check out the restrooms and sit on the red sofa if you can!Keep your eyes open for Nina 😉
Had the garlic knots and the house pizza. Reasonable value for 2 people at around 18$. The knots were fairly tasty but could maybe use a touch more salt. The pizza had solid ingredients and the crust was somewhat crispy and quite bready. It should be pleasing to most. Most of the staff were energetic and happy to give suggestions about the beer offerings which had a few passable choices in the ones I sampled. The IPA, Pale Ale and Porter were enjoyable if a bit less impressive than some of the other local beers. Overall worth trying if just for the interesting building. It’s hard to make truly bad pizza and thiers rates pretty well.
Haunted pizza. Went here for pizza when on a trip to Portland. One of the best pizzas I have ever had. Great atmosphere, Would eat here again .
Pretty disappointed considering how great I heard this place was.
