Was excited to dine at Portland’s oldest Chinese restaurant (94 years old this year) and, the unique exterior is what drew us inside. The best part was mural on the wall inside the room with the window, however, the food and service were both average.

People are too stuck up!! This place is fan-freakin-tastic! Love, love, love the food! The dine-in service is a little slow, but the take out service is on point! I’ve eaten here 50+ times and never waited more than 15 min for food. They’re open late and everyday even Christmas. If your lookin for $$$$ quality, you will be disappointed for sure. But if your lookin for yummy Chineese food on the cheap, your in luck!

Opium Clouds w/ No Chance of Eggrolls. The food, admittedly, was not very good. Our fried rice was really dry, the orange chicken was brown and the filling in the pot stickers seemed to be composed of gummy, mystery matter. However, we were more in it for the divey, old school Chinatown atmosphere of the lounge and of course; the cocktails served therein. And to that end we were satisfied. The food kept us from falling on our faces, which is all we were asking for to begin with. So, there you go. The place is bursting with character and soul but what comes out on the plate is better left out of focus. Grade: C (I might be wrong but it didnt appear that they have Eggrolls) drexlermcstyles.tumblr.com
