I had smoked pork and my husband had smoked lamb. Both were great. My husband thought the barbeque sauce (which came on the side) was too sweet, but I liked it. We were somewhat less impressed with the side dishes, which were good but not outstanding. The service was wonderful — friendly, informative, prompt. Portions are VERY large — we could easily have split a lunch. The atmosphere is dive-y, but that feels authentic, so we enjoyed it. All in all, a very good experience. We like Podnah’s better, but we’d definitely eat at People’s Pig again.

One of the better BBQ places in PDX. That said, pdx has a lot great restaurants but BBQ places are not in abundance so the people’s pig has little competition. The ribs were by far the best item on the menu. You can eat them without sauce. The smoked fried chicken didn’t win me over. It’s a nice idea but the execution is just ehh. I would rather have a great fried chicken or a great BBQ chicken. Combining the two doesn’t work IMO. The BBQ sauce is interesting. I don’t think I love it but admittedly I prefer Memphis style sauce. The collard greens were amazing! Best in the city. So were the Jojos potatoes. Big hit! Like many places in pdx it’s s complete hole in the wall. I think it fits only about 22 people so I’m sure it can get crowded and the wait could be long although we went during the week around 8 pm so there wasn’t a wait. If you’re looking for BBQ in pdx you should definitely give this place a try.

Everything it’s cracked up to be. The fried chicken was stellar, the collards were the best I’ve ever had. This food truck is now a brick and mortar joint. The truck that was downtown is as of 4/1/15 now parked out back of their restaurant. And, they picked a perfect location. This divey place takes me right back to childhood memories of roadside diners in Alabama.

Not worth the money. Went there for lunch and got the pork sandwich as a salad. There was barely any meat, and the meat that was in the salad was half fat I couldn’t eat. They were also out of forks so I had to eat it with my fingers. Will not eat there again.

First time to Portland, and I have to say this is one of the best sandwiches I have ever had.

Hadn’t eaten all day, flew in from BOI, and stumbled around on May Day for the perfect thing. THIS was the perfect thing. Damn good
