I had a fantastic salad at 10 Barrel – the Portland with chicken – and a few small and yummy starters. The miso popcorn, deviled eggs, and oyster shooter were fun and perfect for sharing. Of note, this spot appears to be super family friendly.
My girlfriend and I went here with a friend of hers after completing this year’s Spartan Race. We were very hungry and craving beer, which may bias my review. We arrived and it was pretty well packed. We went up to the roof and had a good time waiting for our table while drinking beer from the roof bar. The wait staff were pretty good about getting us a table even with how packed they were. The service was good and drinks along with food arrived in a decent amount of time. I had the Pub Burger, which, perhaps due to my hunger, was awesome. Other items ordered were a pizza, which I also thought was pretty damn good. The beers were cold, bright and hoppy. I look forward to going back again and would recommend it.
Great place for local beer! What else can I say!?! Haven’t tried the food here, but the beer’s great… If you’re a craft beer enthusiast, go with the beer flight. Place was clean, too, and staff were friendly. Food was pricey, though, that’s probably why I had my beers here and food elsewhere.
Think what you will about the 10 Barrel story (some hardcore brew enthusiasts aren’t a fan of Oregon breweries being bought out by large multinational corporations like Anheiser Busch), it is hard to argue that this place doesn’t offer above average beer, service, and food. The sandwiches and burgers are juicy, the pizzas fresh and flavorful, and the gigantic steak and gorgonzola nachos as filling as they are tasty. It’s no wonder this is a popular spot among locals and visitors alike.
Good spot. It’s a brewery so expect bar food, pizza and beer. They have wine but no cider.. Hint hint 10 barrel. Good vibes here w/ a good atmosphere- big and open.
10 Barrel is already making a splash in Portland. On my first visit to the Pearl location, the beers were great, the service was awesome, and the food was pretty good. It was also a very fun crowd at the bar. I’d definitely go back and get a beer flight next time. paperairplaneblog.com
Go for the beer.. The Portland 10 Barrel is awful compared to the one in Bend. Here’s why:1) The food (especially the nachos although they look amazing) is unsavory. 2) As long as you are white you will fit right in. 3) Super loud. 4) Service is awful (never refill water). 5) The whole thing feels corporate America. We waited 45 minutes on a Wednesday night for the above. Enjoy!
