Visiting from Seattle and decided to try Bellino. My server Kathleen was very helpful in directing me to a wine that was perfect for me and accompanied my meal to a tee! I ordered the warm goat cheese salad with apples and nuts, it was tasty not overly covered with dressing so the ingredients really stood out.I ordered the pasta a la Norma, but was a little disappointed because the pasta was undercooked and mentioned it to my server. She immediately told the owner Francesco who apologized many times and brought me a different dish of pasta. For him to make the effort to do this speaks volumes for his desire to provide a great dining experience for his guests. He’s from Palermo and definitely wants to make this a pleasurable dining experience in every way. My hat off to him for being so proactive in making my experience one that was truly amazing! Kudos to Francesco and Kathleen for taking care of me!

The taste was not anything spectacular. The presentation was nice, but flavor was completely missing. I had the linguini with clams, prawns and fish – really disappointing. I do not recommend it.

I know this restaurant just opened. But let’s face it – Fratelli’s it is not, and it is missed. Yes, it is only their 9th day, and I’m not sure they’ll last 30 day in this foodie town with PLENTY of amazing choices. Our waitress was not well trained (and in this town, there’s plenty of good ones). She took our antipasti order without telling us the special antipasti! The charcuterie plate was disappointing. The frito misto was decent. The pasta dishes were bland and like the other reviewer stated, the sea bass was disappointing. The salad that accompanied it was not dressed and the waitstaff argued with me that it had olive oil. The shining moment was dessert. Their pastry chef deserves kudos. While you wait for the restaurant to mature, go to Oba or Grassa for dinner and come here for dessert.

Working out the kinks. I was excited to try a Sicilian Italian restaurant – I am a big fan of rustic Italian. I am going to give them a break since they are just opening, but it was just OK in my opinion. We were seated at a nice table for 6 and the staff were initially very attentive to our table and answered questions about the menu and the wine list. The menu is not very complicated, but there were a lot of typos that confused me a little. During the course of the meal our waiter was a little MIA at times, and we often had to search for him for more wine and desserts. The charcuterie was nice, but nothing special. I really grade an Italian restaurant by its’ pasta presentation, and I was a little let down. The pasta was a little soggy grossly speaking, and the fettuccine was a little raw. The entrees were good, but nothing to write home about. The pork loin encrusted with pistachio was very well prepared and had a wonderful flavor. The sea bass from the Mediterranean was cooked well, but bland. I had a hard time ordering the sea bass because of the source – would like to see the chef use his culinary skills on local produce/ meats and not waste the CO2 getting the bass from the Mediterranean – wasn’t really all that impressed.I will give this place another try down the road to see if they are just working out the kinks.Food: 34/40Atmosphere/vibe: 19/20Staff/Service: 16/20Value: 16/20Total: 85/100
