This place was really good! They do normal food, but with a bit of a twist. Alissa’s shepherds pie was served straight from the over and was delicious. My mussels and fries were great too. Their clam chowder was also on point. To top it off, their beers were delicious. We would highly recommend going to this place!
Bridgeport has an energized atmosphere with two levels of seating. The menu has options for vegetarians in addition to the usual pub fare. There is a great beer menu, plus a full service bar with some tasty specialty cocktails. I usually have the quinoa bowl but tonight I had the Pizza Special with arugula pesto. I also like the pretzel as a starter.
Mothra Says…..Quality Beers, Good Education. I have had Bridgeport on my wish list for some time. Before I had a bite to eat at lunch or maybe even a dinner, I wanted to drop by and have a brew and check things out. K and I were in the area after a good lunch at Franks Noodle house in the NE. We parked right in front of the tall brick building and while I prepared to drop some change into the parking machine, a very sweet young lady yelled (in a most harmonic voice of course) from across the street: I still have 45 minutes on my parking pass. You want it …….. Thats why we live in Portland! We took the stairs up and took the last two chairs at the bar. I looked around and noticed a pretty full bar area for a 2:15pm afternoon. Conner the beer tender passed out some menus and described some of the beers with which we had questions. K settled on a 8 oz lightly hopped ale and me, I had a pint of Pale Ale. Conner took the time to advise us on the beers on tap including, a stout under nitro. Conner offered us a taste and, wow!, well done. This is a good looking, clean, well designed establishment with a full kitchen/restaurant downstairs. Two good beers, good conversation and an education from Conner. Well be back for another round of brews and some lunch. Pizza’s, salads, sandwiches, and the burgers as well all look good. Mothra says.. 3.35 of 5.0
Awesome!. We had a party of 8 reserved for Saturday night! Our table was ready and the food was awesome! Great place for large parties!
Shockingly poor service. I came to this restaurant to meet with some fellow geocachers for an event, and I was completely shocked by the lack of service I received. This is the first time in my life I’ve ever had a restaurant refuse to serve me. This goes far beyond poor service; this was offensive.Apparently, there was a miscommunication between the event coordinator and the restaurant manager. The manager produced a copy of an email he received and he claimed that he didn’t receive a follow-up email with the necessary information (about the total number of people coming and whether or not they would be ordering drinks or food). Despite numerous conversations with the manager and some staff, only a few people in our group were able to order food and drinks before they (meaning the entire staff) choose to stop serving us. Not only that, the restaurant placed all of the orders on a single tab, even though everyone in the group intended to pay separately.I’m sorry. I don’t understand this approach to doing business. In my prior work experience, I’ve worked as an assistant manager at a restaurant. As part of my training, I was instructed by the restaurant owners to maximize profits by: providing excellent service, being courteous to customers, and making every effort to encourage customers to spend more money on drinks and food. I’ve never been in a restaurant setting where the staff feels it is in their best interest to refuse service to customers who have come there for the purpose of spending money. As a result, this restaurant lost at least a couple hundred dollars worth of revenue and has offended several people. Also, I will never return to this restaurant, I will never recommend this restaurant to others, and I will take every possible opportunity to discourage other people from going to this restaurant. I will be sure to tell everyone I know how offensively I was treated.I don’t care how ‘upscale’ a restaurant or neighborhood becomes; this is disgraceful behavior that reflects poorly on the restaurant, the brewery, the neighborhood, and the city. Many of the people in the group were from out-of-state. What kind of impression of Portland are these people going to take back with them? That we are unfriendly and have no business sense?
The beer is fine. The food is not. Go to Deschutes instead.
