Happy Hour #2. Was a little hassled by a minimum drink rule–I ended up getting an Agua Fresca that I wouldn’t have. Oh well. We ordered Chilaquiles and an Empanada. They were both excellent. We probably would have stayed and ordered a bunch more, but we wanted to try one other place for dinner. Definitely a great Happy Hour destination.
Met some friends here for dinner our second trip to Portland. My husband couldn’t believe that they had Pappy van winkle on the menu. Margaritas come correct and traditional and the guacamole delivers. We also tried fried calamari, and queso fundido. I’m not usually a calamari fan, but this one was delicious. My husband and I shared the Carne Gaucho as an entre, their version of prime rib and we were not disappointed. The Carrot cake looked beautiful, and our friend liked it. Nice atmosphere, good for groups and lively enough for a loud bunch enjoying cocktails to blend in nicely. X<3 L
Awesome happy hour!Food is AMAZING! Get the table-side guacamole! Small plates for sharing are the way to go!Great drinks and margaritas!
Oba has a beautiful ambiance. If not looking to spend $20-30 on a dish they also have an awesome happy hour menu. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. And let’s not forget the pitchers of margs 🙂
7/24/15Went in with some friends. Started off with a Solcistio drink which is made with new deal vodka, cucumber, lemon & Rosemary syrup. Then. We got the table side guacamole which we all love and get it majority of the time. Also got the coyotes appetizer which has prime rib and it was good. Kathy that bartender is awesome. This review was 2 weeks ago Been there for happy hour. Great place for drinks and appetizers. Haven’t had dinner there. You need get get the guacamole dip made table side, we had habanero peppers added for more heat and it was great. Try a mango habanero martini and perfect flavor.
Amazing dinner and friendly staff. One of the best steaks I have ever had.
Oba restaurant. Been going to Oba for years with friends for drinks and happy hour,We have all noticed that the liquer tthey are using in drinks unless you ask for top shelf issub-Standatd liquor, I’m sure ,as are my friends.Happy hour now also seems to be poor quality food along with the portions are now smaller, I guess they don’t realize that’s how People decide if they want to have dinner at a restaurant, is by trying the happy hour.no longer has the colorful Cuban flavor either,No longer our the place for a good drink or food!Looks like the economy got the best of them! To bad!
