What’s NOT to like at the Pearl?. Oh my goodness, I go out of my way to eat at The Pearl Bakery. Baked goods are exceptional; espresso and French Press superb; service very good and the ambiance is so sophisticated ( a Portland attribute they are proud of).
Terrific creative pastries. Great atmosphere. Even classical music. Good coffee too.
Excellent ham and gruyere croissant. My son really liked the raspberry cream cheese pastry (forgot name). Slight disappointment they didn’t have capability to warm the pastry. Americano was good.
Pearl Bakery. Let’s just be honest. There are not a lot of bakeries in Portland where you can get a good coffee AND a good pastry. If you want both a coffee and a pastry at the same time – I suggest this bakery. I have been going here for over five years and they are very clean and efficient. There are even Portland tours that go through the bakery on occasion. The staff has always been friendly and despite the location – the food is reasonably priced. If you want more options for pastries you will want to go earlier in the morning because a lot of the selection will sell out by noon. In my opinion, they make the best French Macaroons in Portland. 🙂
Great Bakery. First, this place was impeccably clean. So the review that said it was dirty must have been on an off day. This place always has a lot of people for lunch. If it were closer to PSU, I would be there more often. They make the best french macaroons.
