Stopped in here for drinks. It was a sunny Saturday, yet their exterior seating is really in need of some heaters. Bar side of restaurant is lovely and maitre d’ was polite and efficient. Drink menu is varied and vast. We ordered lavender oolong tea, NW berry Cosmo and a sinju margarita. Drinks were great! The sinju margarita had a kick that would blow your hair back, it had sriracha and Thai chills. While remarkable on its own I think the list of meals with which to pair it might be limited. The NW berry Cosmo was luscious but not too sweet, just berry delicious. The tea started well but in that it remained steeping while we talked due to the type of tea pot provided, it went bitter after a bit. Food at other tables looked great, it is definitely on the list to return for the meal. Service was not very responsive, I will hold judgement til our next visit where food is involved.
Me and a friend went there 5/17/15. We sat at the bar and had a drink. I ordered a kappa roll, dumplings and teriyaki chicken, my friend ordered some sushi. Sushi and my roll came out which was ok. Then my teriyaki chicken came out. After I ate half I noticed that they never brought out the salad, soup and the rice. I ask the bartender and he said oh sorry. I told him don’t worry about the salad & soup since I was almost done eating. But he did bring some rice out. Half of the chicken was dry. Overall this experience was just ok. This review was 5 months ago. Went there with some buds. The food there is good and they can dress up a plate. The atmosphere was nice in there too. I got the chicken and loved it. This was 6 months ago

Foul Food. Sat in one of the nice little rooms so the ambience was nice. Service was efficient and friendly. The food, however, was actually terrible. The noodle dishes tasted like they were soaked in polluted backwater. The combination platter was bland. The chocolate chili cake had very little sugar and made my mouth burn. The experience made me never want to go to a Japanese restaurant again.
I had an unhappy time here. Since so many like it, maybe my experience was a fluke. I sat in the busy bar. The sidecar I ordered was one of the worst I’ve had. When the bartender took my order he didnt know he was out of some dishes, so he had to return twice, once to tell me and a second time to ask about the rest of my order. When the food came I was even more unhappy. Fried oysters? Soggy, unfreash and tasting of old oil and cardboard. Salmon nigiri? Tasted of old fridge contents like it was left uncovered in the fridge. One upside, the music was kicking. I will not be returning.
The tempura is to die for!! Everyone should try it!!
