What beautiful setting on the hillside with vineyards surrounding you. On Sat. they have pizza that makes a great combination when tasting their wines. The service was very good for both the wine tasting and the pizza. We sat outside and enjoy the lovely day.
Right in my own back yard……….. And it took an on-line friend from across the Cascade Mountain Range to tell me about it.Although the tasting room and cafe rests on a hilltop in the heart of the picturesque Willamette Valley, its pastoral view of green fields, lakes, vineyards and distant hills is obscured by oak groves and outbuildings, the setting is still quite pleasant. The spacious tasting/dining room is appointed with mix-n-match furniture but is crisp and clean. Patio tables and chairs are available for an alfresco option. Two hardy souls were out there merrily sampling the vintner’s bounty on this chilly Oregon spring day.I, on the other hand, was here for the food.My charming server greeted me warmly. I chose their Tortilla Soup and Panini Sandwich. The Soup was gorgeous; the color of a rusty plowshare, its aroma tantalizing and a large dollop of Herbed Sour Cream at its center, like a dragon’s eye, stared at me as hungrily as I did it. A sprig of Cilantro garnished its edge. Next to the bowl, on the plate’s edge, three Panini Toasted Crostini rested with a pat of Butter. Just as I finished my wonderful Soup, my Sandwich arrived. It was golden Toasted Artisan Bread surrounding Paper Thin Sliced Black Forest Ham with Fig Jelly, Grilled Onions and Melted Brie Cheese. It was served with Kettle-Type Crinkle Chips and was garnished with a huge fresh Strawberry and Blood Orange Slices. It was heavenly. If my next visit is this good, it’s going straight to my favorites list!
