Just left this quaint little joint. A warm and inviting atmosphere, with equally kind service. We ordered the nacho appetizer with chicken. It was quite a large portion, easily shareable for two, or three. The chicken was tender and moist with lots of flavor. The red chili drizzled over it added a nice spicy bite, and the guac was solid.Entrees were enchiladas for my wife and the New Mexico burrito for me. The shredded chicken in the enchiladas was moist and the green chili provided a nice earthy light, clean flavor, especially when served next to the rich, bold, slightly bitter red chili sauce. The burrito was served with carne asada. It is not unheard of to get sub par meat with carne asada, but this was very tender and the sauce was very good. All in all a wonderful experience. Service was fast and very friendly, food was delicious. We will be coming back here.

Great food. The worst margarita I have ever had in my life.30 Aug, 2014We went here the other night. The AC wasn’t working so we sat in the Plaid Pantry parking lot. They only had one person running the whole floor including bartending. Despite her overwhelming work load and her frazzled demeanor out food arrived after a long wait. The food was delicious and worth the wait. I hope they sort out their service issues because I’d like to return.

Big Disappointment. Had lunch for first time today. I was born and raised in Santa Fe and spent 40 years there eating wonderful food. This food was not representative of New Mexican cuisine. The sopapilla was far too doughy. Both the posole and the beans were flavorless. My husband asked for green chili and his plate came with green and red. It was very unwelcoming and you felt you needed to rush through your meal so they could.turn your table around. Not an inexpensive meal for a lackluster experience. Would not recommend.

Good service and food. Tried for the first time. Our table had three different lunch entres, all enjoyable. Chips were standard grocery store brand of some sort-would skip next time. Friendly service.

It is awesome to have a New Mexican restaurant in Portland! Red and green chile and sopapillas; it made my night!
