Anna Thai Basil is a food truck that provides fresh thai food in Downtown Portland. It is situated right next to another Thai food truck called A Thai Basil but this one said it was the original and had moved over from next door.Everything on the menu was for $6 (drinks are cheaper at around $3.50). We ordered the standard of all Thai food – their Pad Thai. When we ordered, they asked for our choice of beef or chicken and if we had any food allergies (namely to peanut). It’s good to know that they are conscious about potential allergic reactions. The food came out pretty quickly and it looked pretty appetizing. The Pad Thai had good noodles and sauce. Unfortunately, the bean sprouts were completely raw and the chicken was dry. This might just be a preference but we would have liked the bean sprouts to be cooked or at least tossed around the pad thai. The taste was alright but it was pretty underwhelming since the presentation was actually quite good.Anna Thai Basil was pretty average when it came to their Pad Thai. It had a good foundation but the toppings were sub-par which really made it taste just okay. We would still be willing to try different items on the menu but would probably pass on their Pad Thai next time around.
