Great Meal and More. I had a great experience at Cassidy’s. The food was unpretentious and really well executed. I started with the Beet salad with fresh chevre. The beets were perfectly cooked and the dressed arugula was a nice peppery, bitter counterpoint to the beets. The sweet fresh goat cheese tied the whole thing together just right. The braised short ribs were everything they should have been, tender without being mushy, full of potatoes and aromatic vegetables that actually were aromatic. Throw in some roasted mushroom and the umami kick was huge. Finished off with a house made ginger ice cream. Perfect digestif.It was my first trip to Portland and the staff were really helpful laying out the culinary landcape for me. Don’t miss Cassidy’s
I don’t think there is anything I don’t like about Cassidy’s. It’s always good comforting food. I’ve gone here on dates with my hubby, girls nights and late nights after the bar and it’s always good. I love the daily risotto and the French onion soup and 9/10 times the creme brle is soooo good. I love it.
