It’s a sports bar!. I have been here a couple of times and have to disagree with the most recent posts. This place is a very casual sports bar with lots of good seats to watch games, friendly and prompt service and food that was much better than I expected. The french fries that came with my burger, for example, were very crisp on the outside without being greasy at all.
My husband and I came to watch a Bears game on Sunday morning and the place was busy with ONE SERVER! This place needs serious management intervention! Food sucked is being nice. Frozen sides, Luke warm pizza and a lackluster effort from the staff. Never coming back!
Cheerful Tortoise. The $2 breakfast is you get what you pay for….the hash browns at McDonalds are better. Server Monica was horrible and the Bar Manager was threatening another employee in front of customers so I left and moved my seat elsewhere. The utensils and plates were dirty I had to rub them down with my napkin. Never coming here to watch sports again! Horrible service!!!
The bacon bleu cheeseburger was great. Don’t spend the extra dollar on the onion rings.
Breakfast steal. $1.99 for two eggs, hashbrowns, and toast. All day, everyday. Check it.
Better now. I agree with one review and will admit that the old management staff was quite disinterested and unhappy to work there but after years of loyal patronage i decided that after she left I would try it again. catie is the new manager and since her takeover I have noticed alot of changes, all of them for the better. The girls have taken to smiling more, the food has improved not only in presentation but in speed and accuracy. This bar will always have it’s ups and downs as any college dive bar is bound to but right now it is definitely in it’s up stage!
We were looking for a sports bar nearby the Schitzer Hall (after watching Bill Cosby) to catch the 2nd half of playoff football. My first impression was that there are so many TVs, that every seat was a good one. After sitting down, I noticed the tired wood panelling and decor, thinking do I really wanna eat here? The menu is good, prices are good, heck-we’ll stay. BLT with tater-tots was great, wife’s burger was adequate (a bit dry),, drinks good too. Prompt and friendly service matched with good food, loads of TV’s and ‘colorful’ locals (Mr Abraham… I’m talkin about you;), made for a fun visit.
