Went here for breakfast. This place is on the 2016 dining guide. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Reasonable, tasty and creative fare in a swanky environment. If you go Sunday morning parking is free. Book on opentable

Paley’s Place is a Portland classic. Chef Paley is well known for showcasing Pacific NW cuisine. Imperial, unfortunately, lacks the same finesse. We tried them out for dining month. A prix fixe menu – 3 courses – and here’s the result: A mesclun mix salad with minimal dressing, 4 pieces of hazelnut and 3 shaved pieces of butternut squash…zero flavor. Then, we had pork shoulder on polenta. Perfectly cooked and tender with a tasty polenta, but cilantro and shaved jalapeo were superfluous. Last was a bouchon….read a Safeway brownie…with tasteless rhubarb and cream. $90 included the wine pairing which was pedestrian at best. Yep, Chef Paley….you sold out

Usually, I dine at the Imperial for lunch but today I got to try their brunch menu. We started by splitting a freshly made berry pop tart which had a flaky crust. I had the Imperial Bloody Mary with pickled vegetables which was wonderful. I really enjoyed the Buttermilk Fried Chicken which was really tender and moist. It was served with a great gravy covered biscuit and house made hot sauce. My friends enjoyed their meals also. The service was good and the atmosphere sitting at a table that faced Broadway was enjoyable.

Wowwwwww gooodddddd. Come for the QUALITY. NOT the QUANTITY. No massive food plates overflowing. But flooded with quality & taste. Although this is only my first time here. And it is a 11:30 visit on a Saturday so the menu is brunch!! We looked over the lunch & dinner menus & found it very enticing. Looking forward to returning!!!

One of fav places in town. On this visit I started off with a drink called, A Good Problem to Have and I loved it. Then I got the fried chicken with fries. The chicken comes out with a little bottle of honey and hot sauce. Both give it a great flavor and the fries was good. This is in the top 3 restaurants to get fried chicken at. The service was good and the atmosphere was nice too.

Very slow service and average food. Reminds me why not to eat in hotel restaurants.
